I used a computer for referencing, and some books for casual education. It is a very well maintained building, the staff was helpful with prompt assistance. Thank you for hosting me this afternoons adventure!

Rude Staff and False Advertisement of Hours of Operation: Stopped by while in the area to quickly use my personal laptop to send out an important document that my boss needed. I wasn’t checking out material, looking for items or lingering. I was clearly on a mission. The library closes at 5 according to: Google, the library’s door and the library’s staff. However, at about 20 minutes til 5, staff came around to make patrons aware they close at 5. Great to give people a reminder to be prepared and start making final preparations to leave. No problem with this. I even thanked the lady and acknowledged that I was quickly finishing up. Since they were closing I called to make sure the document was received. Staff came back at 5 minutes til to tell me they were closed. I asked if they close at 5 and was told they were closed. As I walked out, I noticed a staff member standing in the office doorway with a purse on her shoulder ready to leave. While I was rushed out the door…before 5…an elderly man (with items to drop off) was coming to the door as I was walking out. I politely held it open and told him to enter at his own risk. What neither of us knew was, the staff had already locked the entry door before 5. The elderly man came back out after leaving items and a staff member followed him and asked if we had unlocked the door. The elderly man was fast with a sharp comment in jest and said yes, he used his key! I had not even made it to my car as I watched staff members hurriedly get in their vehicles to leave. By the time I talked to the man, watched the librarian check the door’s lock, crossed a street and got into my car…it just turned 5:00. I took a picture of the hours on the door and my car clock. For clarification purposes for the public, what is closing time at the New Port Richey Public Library on a Friday? 4:30 pm? 4:45 pm? 5:00 pm? If earlier than 5, please adjust on Google and other advertisement.

I know it's under construction, but I guess I thought it'd be bigger.. even shelves aren't full. I got a library card(actually only key chain.. because you only get one or the other), and apparently that's only a city card and won't work at the other location. It didn't help to have an unpleasant person, and either street parking or city hall parking lot. Very disappointing

According to our catalog, it doesn't appear so. You can always log in or call to put in a request for the item and we can try to obtain it via Interlibrary Loan. Visit nprlibrary.biblionix.com or call 727-853-1279.
To get a library card, you just need a photo ID with a current address or any other item that shows your current address (utility bill, voter ID, etc.). We do have access to borrow from Overdrive/Libby also. If you'd like to get an ecard to use digital resources only, you can apply by visiting nprlibrary.org and click on the link for access digital resources from home.
Please give us a call at 727-853-1279 and we can assist you with obtaining your password. Thank you!
It looks like we should have the second one listed. The first one could be requested via InterLibrary Loan. If you have a library card with us, you can either call 727.853.1279 and a staff member can assist you via phone or stop in the library. If you don't have a card, a staff member can get you set up with one.
The cost for printing is .25 per color page and .15 for black and white. You can bring your laptop for WiFi here and then upload your print document via our wireless printing service, or you can load it from home in advance! You can find the link on our website, nprlibrary.org.
Thanks for your question! We are in the process of evaluating and shifting collections during our renovations. Some collections that were not as popular are being eliminated to make room for additional collections and services.
Thank you for your interest! All potential visitors must visit the market and pick up an application from the Market Managers tent.
Try Supportourtroops.org The website has a list of tips and requirements (ex: leave letters unsealed for inspection). Although currently postponed due to the pandemic, another great opportunity is with Honor Flight. It is a nonprofit that transports America's Veterans to Washington, DC to visit memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices. Priority is given to WWII Veterans. Departure is from St. Pete-Clearwater International AIrport several times a year (usually) and includes festivities and a parade like atmosphere while the Veterans go through the airport and board the plan. HonorFlight usually asks the public to send banners and posters that are displayed at the airport when they leave and come back. Honor Flight also accepted Thank you Letters from the public, and as part of the activities for the Veterans, the cards would be given out to each participant at a "Mail Call" For more details, check: honorflightwcf.org
