I really don’t know where do begin. AnnMarie Brojek treated my family, most importantly my grandfather who was* a resident, terrible and made everyone to feel like rubbish, an afterthought, a burden. He had been residing at Angels for a couple years and prior to new management taking over, we NEVER had any issues. Ever. We were always informed, treated with grace and most importantly, spoken to with respect. We rested well knowing that he was safe. I remember the previous employee, director, would hold my grandfathers hand, speak to him like a human being, spoke to us like she cared, and she did care. This was not the case with Ms Brojek. Constantly insulted our intelligence, would never admit to wrongdoing, lack of care, would backtrack when she was caught, placing blame on my family members when she didn’t do her job, what she is paid to do. When other staff members apologized for wrongdoing, she sat with her arms crossed and refused to acknowledge that it started with her, the director. She actually asked my father, after his own 14 hour workday, to do parts of her job for her, i.e. go to a hospital to pick up needed materials that she time and time again forgot to order and have in stock at Angels even with months of notice. I could go on and on at the incompetence, disrespect and complete arrogance. She should not be in this line of work. When something is challenging, she proved herself to be incapable, then placed blame. She never answered her phone (this was common to communicate frequently, previous employee always answered) and her voicemail was never changed, so the previous employees voice and name was on the other end, unprofessional. So many things added up to show that my grandfather was not getting the care he needed and we as a family we’re doing more work than we did before when he was living under our roof. It would’ve been less stressful to have him move back home, but that wasn’t an option unfortunately. He was neglected at one point and almost lost his life due to a visible infection on his skin. If we didn’t visit him the day that we did, he would’ve been gone. We immediately called 911 and he was in the hospital for what seemed like forever and needed so much care including blood transfusions. My family was also accused by her and a nurse of many very disturbing allegations that I cannot list here. Absolutely disgusting. He was under their care and their care only. He is now at a new facility and is actually THRIVING.. I haven’t seen him look this healthy since before new management came to Angels. He is no longer having these strange and frequent “falling” spells or speaking ill of staff (He was not fond of AnnMarie and he wasn’t even aware of what we dealt with with her so that speaks volumes)… which means he is being properly watched, fed, encouraged, respected, and cared for; the entire purpose of these facilities. I pray that no one else ever has this experience, but the truth is, this is common in assisted living facilities. We just never though Angels would be the one to impact his life and our life in the way they did. Hopeful that the owner will do better and make much needed changes as we discussed with him and that no one else will ever feel neglected/disrespected under their care ever again. Hopeful that the families of residents will never lay awake at night wondering if their loved one is okay and how hard the following day will be dealing with staff. Thank you to Shawnah Cox, Shawnette Moll and Melissa Reimert who initially helped us SO MUCH and kept my grandfather safe, made him feel at home and NEVER treated our family with disrespect. I know that wherever they are, that place is very lucky to have them.

Amazing staff and facility! Shawnette Moll goes above and beyond to help my mom each day. She is so incredibly sweet and patient. So thankful to have found a place that is accommodating to my mother's special needs with memory care. Mom says she's having a good time there!

My sister is a new admission to Angels Assisted Living in New Tampa. I would like to share the amazing experience we were shown by the Regional Director, Manager and other staff members. This facility is very clean, decorated very nicely and takes all the necessary precautions for COVID. The interaction between the staff and residents were very impressive, staff addresses the resident by their names. Moving in to this facility was easy, members of the executive team came out to assist us in moving my sister's personal belongings. I was amazing that the Regional director packed up all my sister's clothing into her drawer, while the supervisor decorated her room and the maintenance hang her curtains. Myself and family were truly touched and amazed at this excellent customer service and compassion that was showed to my family member. I would recommend this facility for your loved one. You will have the peace of mind that your loved one is very treated with love and compassion Bibi

A safe and clean environment for elderly parents is difficult to find, but I found Angel's at New Tampa just that. My mother really felt that she was at home while she lived there. My sister and I found the staff compassionate and sincerely caring. Mom's medical needs were always taken care of. We feel that the administrators, Shawnah and Erica always went above and beyond for our mom and the other residents as well. There are so many staff members who touched Mom's life, who I want to mention and thank--but the list is too long.

Angels has made a great deal of changes in the last 3 years. I'm sorry for your experience. Sincerely, A Resident

Are all of your ALF's under your management, smoke-free?

No. New Tampa Angels has a smoking patio available 24/7. I've heard that some Angels no longer permit smoking, but I don't know which ones. Thanks, Kimberly B. Resident Council
