Really nice and I love the Star Wars Phantom Menace Pepsi machine in the mall. Really cool and rare.

Only go there for T mobile store. Sad to see only four stores, recruiters office, a questionable Asian massage parlor and the movie theater are the only things that are there

This mall was built the same time as West Manchester Mall in York (also by Crown American) and has similar aesthetics and layout. However, while WMM remodeled in the mid 90s and eventually was de-malled in the mid 10s, the Chambersburg Mall in many ways still looks like it did when it opened in the early 80s with many of the original plant centerpieces with the original brickwork that was also at WMM but disappeared from there long ago. So it's odd to step back in time and see that this place never changed. A tell tale sign a mall is doomed is when they close part of the mall off. The former Gee Bee and eventual Burlington side of the mall has been roped off and you can see a lot of leaking ceiling. One area in particular is getting bad and the fact it's roped off seems to signal a larger problem that could hasten it's demise. You can no longer enter on the entrances down there and can only enter at 2 of the 4 entrances now. There isn't much to do here outside of the antique store which you can only access from the outside of the mall which somewhat removes it from the experience of going to the mall. If you want some candles you can stop at Bath and Body Works which oddly has 3 employees working even though nobody in the mall appeared to be shopping there, however I did encounter several mall walkers. Which I don't understand why you'd want to come all the way out here to walk when you could just walk outside somewhere. I would've went in to get a candle but the employees had nothing to do and I felt like I'd probably get more attention than I wanted if I went in. Sadly the lockdowns took the restaurant and pretzel place with it. I was hungry but had to stop at the McDonald's down the road to get food after I left the mall. It's weird watching this mall that was never really updated still there in a mostly original state from 40 years ago, awaiting its fate. The broken signage at the entrances to the property are symbolic of what's in store as you drive up the hill to the mall. This mall is on life support, yet it's still here against all odds. That said, this mall doesn't seem to be in too bad of shape and could be revitalized in various ways if there was interest in doing so... but there isn't. Come see a piece of late 20th century American cultural history before it's gone forever.

I live in Chambersburg, and the mall's visual appearance outside approach, dingy, gray, dirty concrete, old vintage mall architecture. It's exterior appearance does not invite. A mall was suppose to feel like a great place to shop, eat, get away from stress. This mall should be modernized inside with flourishing waterfalls, indoor gardens, entertainers, cart vendors, food court, places to sit and relax by garden. Bring the commerce back inside with updates, and get the outside of the mall exterior cleaned up. Make it a place to make consumers feel they are getting away from stress of their workweek.
