It's pretty simple. Peaceful, it's directly next to Tampa Bay. Can fish, there's nice shade trees too. And really not a lot of people there

Park is currently closed due to construction on Gandy, but the City parks website doesn't list any sort of notice or official closure.

Yes, but it's not going to be easy access to the beach. I do know that on the other side of Gandy Blvd still on the Tampa Bay side, there's a boat ramp. You can also go across the bridge to Gandy beach on the st Pete side on either side of Gandy Blvd, and you can put a kayak in easy as can be. My hubby and I do it all the time. At Gandy Beach you can drive right on the beach and pull right in the mangroves and have your own little piece of beach to yourself. It's very calming. If you do visit, bring a couple of empty garbage bags and some gloves and take some trash out of there when you leave. Everyone needs to pitch in and do their part to not throw your trash on the beach or anywhere else on the ground and also pick it up when you find it all over the ground!
Yes, this is a popular fishing spot.
I don't recommend swimming there, there isn't an established beach. Its more popular as a fishing and picnic spot. No restrooms.
