If you plann to come here make sure you get the discover pass, as this is a state park and you are required to display your discover pass on your car's windshield. Great spot for manila clams and oysters! We also saw star fish and lots of sand dollars.

Online, at the DMV, at some state parks (ones with a staffed office or automated machine), or at any store that sells hunting and fishing licenses (like Big 5, Cabelas, Bass Pro, etc.).
Sometimes, other people like to pick too many clams or oysters and not leave any for other people. It's (possibly) closed because natural evolution needs to happen and clams and oysters need to grow big and strong on the beach before other people come back and take more. Either THAT, or there's no money in State budget for anyone to go out to the gate and open it. OR! Fish hatchery down the street (road) is in high fish runs and doesn't want the public messing with the fish populations when the fish are spawning.
