Daniella and her team (thanks to Lauren too!) were seriously life savers for me. I had back-to-back car accidents in the past year, and I have no idea what I would have done without them. Daniella came highly recommended and now I know why and can pass on the recommendation, if you need someone who is reliable and trustworthy you came to the right place!!

Attorney Daniella Rivera and her paralegal, Lauren, could not have been more kind and helpful during our consultation regarding my mother’s case. Attorney Rivera answered all of our questions, was able to give us great advice and direction. It’s easy to tell this firm cares deeply for their clients, which is always appreciated during stressful times.

I got into my first car accident as an adult in early December of 2021 and I was referred to Daniella Rivera by a friend. I wasn't actually planning on using a lawyer to help me until I received a predatory phone call from the other drivers' insurance company. The accident was not my fault and I had no experience on how to handle the situation. The other drivers' insurance company called me in the first week of the accident and tried to get me to agree to settle for $500 dollars. I knew enough to know that this was a predatory phone call and I immediately called Daniella. From the first moment we spoke, Daniella was very helpful and knowledgeable. Daniella guided me on how to proceed from day one and was very active in making sure I was taken care of. I had issues with the rental car place as well because they had told me that the other insurance company was not going to continue paying for my rental, even though I had not even received the check for my totaled car. Daniella handled this quickly and efficiently for me and made sure that my check was received and that the insurance company continued to pay for my rental for an acceptable period of time. Also, I would like to say that Daniella has a paralegal named Madelyn Rivers who was quite helpful as well and always answered all my questions, relayed messages, and responded to my needs in a timely and efficient manner. They were both a delight and a pleasure to speak with and I always felt secure in knowing that they were doing everything they could to help me with my case. I am very glad that I called Daniella because I was able to seek medical treatment, have all my medical bills paid, and I received the total amount of the settlement that was possible. I would recommend Salter, Healy, Rivera & Heptner to anyone as I was treated with the utmost respect from day one and they were very professional, organized, efficient and most importantly they got the job done. I can't stress this enough, if you have been in a car accident then call them because they handled every part of my case and took all of the stress and worry off of my shoulders. I am very thankful that Daniella and Madelyn handled my case.

Amazing group! Dane found important items in my case that other attorneys completely overlooked. Madelyn kept me up to date and informed throughout the entire case. The settlement exceeded my expectations! Highly recommended!

What are the steps in a successful slip and fall claim?

First, we want to make sure that our clients receive the appropriate medical attention that they need. If they need to see an orthopedic specialist, we make sure that they get there. Second, we want to do our investigation. Are there pictures of the substance that cause the slip? If not, can we get out to the location and gather that evidence as quickly as possible? Then we determine who is going to be responsible for our client’s injuries. Once our client has recovered from their injuries and has gone through the medical treatment that they need to, we gather all medical records and medical bills and submit that to the insurance company in a demand. The insurance company will have 30 days to evaluate our client’s claim and, after those 30 days, they will submit an initial offer to our client.

How do I find the best attorney for my personal injury case?

I spoke with somebody who was seriously injured in an accident and they asked, “How do I know who the best personal injury attorney is for me?” The first thing that I explained to them is that you need to make sure the attorney you’re hiring only handles personal injury cases. You don’t want a general practitioner who handles everything from real estate to bankruptcy, to wills and trusts, because they just don’t have the experience and the expertise to help in a serious injury case. The other thing that can be done is looking to see if you’re hiring a board certified civil trial attorney. A board certified civil trial attorney in Florida is a specialist in civil trial law, and that’s less than 1% of the attorneys in the state of Florida. Our attorneys are board certified civil trial attorneys, and that means that we go to trial and we’ve been reviewed by other attorneys and judges about our expertise in this field.

Can Pre-Existing Injuries Affect My Car Accident Claim?

I'm not a lawyer but I guess you would have to call mr. Haley and ask him I'm Sheree pre-existing injury will be questioned but if you were in an accident and it's not your fault there has to be some liability. Again you would have to ask mr. Haley he's a great lawyer and he knows what he's talking about and this is not my opinion I have nothing to do with that lawyer or I'm not getting anything from him I just think he's a truly honest lawyer you can trust and it's hard to find nowadays.

What Mistakes Should I Avoid After My Car Accident?

It’s critically important, if you’re in a car accident, to call law enforcement and to document what happened in the accident. After doing that, the next thing is to obtain immediate medical care. A number of people try to put off medical care, hoping that their injuries are going to get better over the next four or five days, but the problem with that is the insurance company is going to use that against you to try to make a claim that you did not sustain an injury in this crash. If you’re in a car accident and you’re injured, you need to get immediate medical care at an emergency room or walk-in clinic, or another appropriate medical professional. The next mistake that people make in car accident cases is they call their insurance company or the at-fault driver’s insurance company before calling an attorney. That’s a huge mistake. If you call an insurance company and speak with a professional insurance adjuster, that person’s going to ask questions, probably take a recorded statement which will be used against you in the weeks, months and years to come to try to establish that your case is not as serious as it really is. They’re trained to do that, so be sure, before calling any insurance company, that you hire an attorney.

What Do I Do After the Car Accident?

Last week, a client came into the office who had been in a recent motor vehicle collision and was telling me about the various parts of the body that he injured in the accident. One of those parts of the body that he injured in the accident was his back, and he was concerned that he would not be able to make a claim for his back injury because he had had issues with his back in the past. Insurance companies use preexisting conditions as a defense in all cases, no matter how healthy a person may have been before that motor vehicle collision. In truth, a preexisting condition often explains how and why a person sustained the extent of injury that they did in an accident. We handle cases involving preexisting conditions all the time, and we have had great success in representing clients and making sure that they get the recovery that is fair for their past medical expenses, and their future medical expenses they will incur as a result of aggravating preexisting conditions in motor vehicle collisions.
