I attended the First Baptist Church of Bartow for the 1st time about 3 weeks ago. I haven't been to Church in over 2 years because of work and other excuses. My mother was a dedicated and Loyal Christian who attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Plant City until God finally called her home Oct 4th of 2016. After she she passed I couldn't make myself go to Church especially Shiloh because I couldn't bear to face all her friends and then have to be reminded of how loved she was and how much they missed her which would make me miss her more. I didn't realize how much I needed God in my life until I had to relocate to Bartow. I admit I didn't attend church the 1st time because I wanted too but because I was made to for good reason. Sometimes God helps give you a little push in the right direction. It has always been hard for me to find the right church since I left Shiloh Baptist. I grew up there and almost everyone knows me and my family. Anyway, I have only been to this Church 3 times but I feel like I may have a new or 2nd home Church. Shiloh will always be my 1st Home Church and I will always love them but since my mom was called home I couldn't step foot back there yet. Maybe going here may help me to one day get the strength and courage to go back to Shiloh at least once in a blue moon after I get transportation. Ok I know reviews shouldn't be so long but I felt the need to say what I did. If you are looking for a church or just want someone to pray for you sometime you can always call the church and the Pastor or someone will be happy to pray with you or for you or help you. Just ask God to guide you in the right direction and he will lead you in the right path if you put your faith in him.

Love this place. Love the members. Have been a member here for decades off and on. FBC is still reeling from a painful split. They've lost 3/4 if their members - mostly the families with children. But they've hired a young and energetic new minister and I think this will be back where it used to be - families, seniors, missions, support groups.
