Had sudden symptoms of rapid heart rate, low blood pressure, real bad stomach pains, sweating profusely; I had no idea why this was happening. I just knew something was wrong. I couldn’t even lift my head off the floor. Husband called for ambulance. Guys came, must have said to me “your vitals are fine” a 1000 times. Well, you’re missing something because I’m obviously not fine. Got me in ambulance, this was in Feb. and it was very cold out. The A/C was on so high in that truck I was freezing. They left me in the back ALONE. I had on shorts, tank top and no shoes or socks. Then we get to the ER, I tell them I can’t sit up because it would make me nauseas and I was also very lightheaded, they put me in a wheelchair then leave me sitting in the hall. There was no one around. It was like the twilight zone. For the future, if there is ever an emergency, we will drive ourselves. Btw, I was diagnosed with pancolitis and autonomic dysfunction that night! But my vitals were fine! Grr

Thank you so much Nicholas Oleszczuk and Jonathan Woods, for helping me with my 92 year-old Dad. You guys were respectful, competent, professional and very kind. Thank you for all you do! Stay safe.

Today a friend was babysitting for my 4 month old granddaughter so we could take our mother to the Doctor's. Well today a new landscaper was coming to cut our lawn, after he finished he had some questions for the friend/babysitter....well she walked out the house to answer his question and the door closed quickly behind her, leaving her locked out with the baby sleeping inside. She frantically tried all the windows, without avail, she could not call us, phone was in the house...we arrived back home to see her frantic, she cried stating she was locked out. We were unable to get in and finally my sister said call 911 who dispatched the Pasco Fire dept. They arrived within 10 minutes quick and was able to get in the house quickly. As soon as they opened the door, my granddaughter's head popped up...Thank God for keeping her asleep through this ordeal and Thank for you gentlemen for coming out to save the day, they also helped my mom out of the car to the house. We don't know what we would have done without you guys, Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! PASCO FIRE DEPT. ROCKS...WE LOVE YOU GUYS

Thought maybe it was a joke but they were serious when asking my wife (mother of 1) if she was ever sick. Told them part of my medical history and got told that a specific congenital defect is something everyone has. Someone needs to retest these EMTs or reevaluate the testing process. They are not medical doctors and need to be made aware of it. If you have a legitimate emergency I would recommend calling someone, anyone else, the "help" they offer is below standard every time.

If this is for insurance purposes you need to call headquarters and ask them for a iso letter.
The reason they asked to move her from the bed to the floor is to perform effective CPR . I am very sorry for your loss
None of the volunteer stations are manned 24/7 in Pasco but they are on-call at all times. Most fire departments in the Tampa Bay area have volunteers.
I have nothing against those who wish to pursue a career with any fire company. My issue is with the lack of training or insufficient training given. I still feel the tests and training should be more involved to allow those in the emt field to actually be able to assist people who genuinely feel they are in crisis and in need of emergency assistance. I appreciate as well as respect those who go out and work hard trying to help the everyday person. In no way shape or form am I holding the entire county responsible for the select few in my area who are unable to utilize common sense. Maybe train continuously by giving the EMT's training exercises to help in all facets of the profession. Again, I respect and appreciate all first responders and what they all go through on a daily basis. However, training and execution are two separate things. You want to join the ranks of these men and women who risk more than we think every day? Go ahead! Just be the best you can be.
