WELL I wanna update my last post. My grandma has been moved back to the wing and area she is familiar with. I wanna thank The newer social worker ,CRYSTAL OLIVER for listening to my concerns and requests ,and making things happen. I know her job ,and all the jobs at these places aren't easy ,and we all want our loved ones in a safe loving place and them be comfortable. So ,I want her to know ,how much I appreciate all she's done ,RHANKS AGAIN

Beware! Sadly, this place is not even worthy of a one-star review, but that is the lowest allowable! THE MOST HORRIBLE experience with post hospital in-patient rehab we could have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. My dad's needs were completely unmet. There is NO ONE on staff to advocate for the patient as there is NO SOCIAL WORKER. They were completely disorganized and unprofessional. He was left sitting in a transport wheelchair for 4 1/2 hours (never taken to the restroom during that time), they skipped his evening meds completely the first day he was there. There is NO DIETICIAN to work on nutritious meals and therefore the cheapest food imaginable is served to the residents. They completely disregarded my dad's diabetic, dietary needs causing his blood sugar level to nearly double. After two days, we pulled him out. It should have only taken 24-hours but they didn't bother to inform the physician that he needed to come in that week and therefore wasn't planning to. After DEMANDING that my dad be evaluated for discharge and after dozens of phone calls, my dad was released from care late the second night at 7pm. We did not want to pull him out AMA or his BCBS would have given us trouble. SO relieved that bad experience is behind us!

My mom entered the facility mid-December in the memory care unit. The nursing staff is kind and considerate. My mother is not much of a 'joiner' in the activities they offer, but she has been seen helping with cookie making and planting annuals in planters on the patio off the unit. Making the decision to send my mother here was not an easy one. The friendly staff makes me feel she is being well attended. She enjoys the meals, saying they are tasty and I have seen some of the offerings. They look balanced and pretty yummy. I have had a monthly review with the head of nursing staff on my mothers care, physical changes, ect. That is a welcomed perk. The four star rating is due to one of MY issues. I am taking care of her laundry, I wanted to. But several times mom has had either her room mates clothing on or another patients. They all roam from room to room, sharing or not knowing what is THEIR stuff. It's an issue I need to just relax about. She is always dressed, cared for and fed. I would recommend this facility to people looking for this type of care for their loved ones.

I have seen a lot of nursing facilities in my time caring for my aunt. I can not be more please to have found Bradenton Health Care. They have the most outstanding staff, that always seem to cheer her up whenever she needs it. I do not think she will want to leave. I feel truly blessed to have the peace of mind knowing she is being taken care.

Your length of stay is determined by many factors: your physical condition, any underlying medical conditions, your previous level of independence and where you will go after discharge.
Among others, we offer physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Physical therapy (PT) examines, evaluates and treats patients with various disorders including musculoskeletal conditions, heart conditions, neurological disorders, wounds, and more. A PT also recommends devices that will assist the patient with function and mobility. Occupational therapy (OT) examines, evaluates and treats patients to afford them improved function in the performance of activities of daily living (ADLs). An OT might train a patient to use medical or adaptive equipment, provide splint fabrication, or perform neuromuscular re-education. OT also includes cognitive retraining associated with ADLs and safety, energy conservation techniques, and sensory deficit compression techniques. Speech therapy evaluates, diagnoses and treats disorders of communication, cognition and language. Sometimes, swallow studies allow for objective assessment of the swallowing function.
The cost of skilled nursing varies depending on where you live, what level of care is provided and what type of accommodations you choose. Most seniors do not usually meet their long-term care needs from any one source. Instead a combination of support private funds, long-term care insurance and government assistance is used to cover the costs. Medicare covers post-hospital, short-term skilled care only and may not cover the cost of ongoing nursing home care. For low-income seniors who meet eligibility requirements, Medicaid might pay a portion of the cost.
Check with the center you are considering and ask them about pet policies. Some centers have pets on site or offer pet therapy that all of the residents can enjoy and interact with.
Yes. Skilled nursing (or nursing home) centers have a full calendar of activities and social events for residents, including art classes, ice cream socials, bingo and game night, prayer service, movie night and much more!
Skilled nursing centers are designed to provide specialized care individuals who have health conditions that require constant monitoring and availability of medical personnel. Skilled nursing centers, also known as nursing homes, provide 24-hour clinical supervision, meals, activities and health management support for their residents.
After 5pm they lock all doors and family members have a code to enter the back door.
They have a smoking schedule and the patient must be accompanied by a nurse or family member
