In January of 2022 we contracted Nelson Pools to resurface our aging pool. Every detail from start to finish was handled in a very professional manner. The staff went the extra mile to be certain that we would be happy with the finished project and we certainly are! Now that the weather is nice we have been in the pool almost daily. Not only do the surfaces look great they feel great under foot. We highly recommend Nelson Pools.

Truth be told, there is not a single easy job in this world, but only great co-workers. And I'm lucky enough to be able to work with the people from Nelson Pool Company, who I can count on. Nelson is very open to suggestions and gives constructive feedback to help you improve. 👏

After extensive research looking for a pool remodel company we chose Nelson Pools. The whole process went seamless starting with Nelson coming to our house for the initial estimate to the girls helping us pick the colors etc.... His staff was extremely helpful, efficient, timely and tidy. They did a fabulous job and we can not be happier with the results! Anyone looking for a pool remodel company should look no further than Nelson Pools!

The owner came out and gave me a no hassle-bid, explained his process, and communicated with me immediately when I had questions. The crew came in as scheduled, were very efficient, and knew exactly what they were doing. They made sure to cover everything that needed covering and cleaned up after they were done. My pool looks fantastic and they did not skimp on materials so I know this will last as long as I own my home!

Hi Justin, To find leaks in swimming pools we use different techniques, one is using dye, that is a simple way to locate structural leaks. We also use a technique that we call it “gravity test”, it involves dye and the forces of gravity to see if a pool pipe is leaking. And the other technique is using a ultrasonic machine. This machine allows us to find the noise of a leak from a pool pipe when we send a combination of water and compressed air into a pipe. We can locate leaks in a pipe even if it is 5’ underground and has concrete over it.
Many things can cause pool leaks, anywhere from normal wear and tear, the ground shifting under the pool as it naturally does, or human error. How we repair depends on what the leak is. If it's the skimmer throat (very common) we cut into the deck, around the skimmer and remove it. We install the new one then seal with hydraulic cement. A pool crack, we drain the pool and chip down around the crack before using rebar staples to close it before resealing it with hydraulic cement and the surface that your pool has.
Hi! Thank you for your question! It all deppends on what kind of "repair" you are asking for. If you are talking about an epoxy seal, (which is not a permanent repair), it comes with a 70 days warranty, but sometimes they last a lot long, depending the leak location and how severe the leak was before we put the epoxy seal. To do a permanent repair after we have performed a leak detection, it comes with one year warranty of parts and workmanship.
There are a couple of advantages you can get from having a pool in these formats. One advantage is how customizable these pools are. You have much more flexibility in the shape of the pool, and the finish, as well as what features you can have installed on the pool. Not only that, but gunite and concrete pools are much more durable. The chemicals in a pool will break down a fiberglass pool, or the vinyl liner much quicker than the pool finishes used in a gunite or concrete pool.
The three most common types of in-ground pools are as follows: 1. Concrete/Gunite Pools with a Plaster/Pebble surface. 2. Fiberglass pools 3. Vinyl pools, which are metal or plastic frame covered with a vinyl liner..
There are 3 main circumstances that can cause cracks in a swimming pool. 1. Not common but possible is the ground settling, causing stress on the pool shell making it crack. 2. Low quality of the gunite or shotcrete batch used to make the pool shell can cause cracking; or a lack of experience of the one shooting it can cause installation imperfections that cause a crack to eventually form. 3. Lastly, wrong placement of the supporting rebar in the pool shell is often a reason for the shell to start cracking. Pools are supposed to be a minimum of 6 inches thick with 3 inches between the surface and the rebar. We often see the rebar much farther in than that, which can easily cause cracking of the pool shell. These are three of the most common causes of pool shell cracking that we see. But, it often times is a combination of more than just one of these that can cause a pool shell to start cracking.

If it has to do with a swimming chances are we will be able to help you with it, as long as it is not a new pool construction. We are longer offering new construction. There are a few other details that we don't do such as fiber glass pool shells or vinyl liners. But, for more details on whether we will do your particular job feel free to call our office at 941-256-4079.
A lot of it is personal preference. If you don't like the way your pool looks, then it is time to do a makeover! For most people, when their pools starts having to many miss-colrored patches or stains they feel it is time to just redo their pool. The one big "need" makeover that we tell our clients iis when your surface starts to bumble and crack. This usually means water has gotten between the plaster of your pool and the shell. It can be fixed temporarily, but we personally won't do a repair on something like that because it will just continue to happen; sometimes even during the repair as we walk on the surface. Hope that helps you out a bit!
Mr. Morris. There are a few factors that come into play when it comes to fixing a pool leak. The biggest question would be, "Where is my leak?". To locate a leak we do what is called a leak detection. Our technicians come out to the property in question and use dyes and special devices with microphones to be able to pinpoint where a leak is. The lowest cost possible for that with our company is $305.00 if you have only a pool with no extra fittings, such as an extra main drain or an extra jet line. You can always call our office at (941)256-4079 for extra information on the pricing of the leak detection. As for the leak repair itself, it is hard to say exactly because prices vary depending on what found with the leak detection and the scope of work. Crack repairs, 10-22 fitting repairs, and skimmer replacements all range in the thousands range usually. Valve replacements range in the hundreds usually. I didn't cover everything but that should give you a good idea of what costs would be
