Terrible place. Rushed an injured dog there, bleeding in the car . Their first concern was collecting payment and then stated that they couldn't handle emergency situations. If we paid would refer us to another vet. Their referral was 25 mins away in Cerritos. Searched out and found Washington animal hospital less than 5 min away important time when your pet is bleeding out in your back seat. I will never even look at this place again

I always have an excellent experience at the PetsMart Banfield at the Whittwood. The staff is quick to answer phone calls and eager to provide assistance. All the veterinarian assistants treat my pets as if they were their own. My pets are so happy when they go in for a check up! Dr. Fernandez and Dr. Patty give thorough examinations and provide clear notes so that owners know how to take care of their pets! I love how the staff always calls the next day after an appointment to make sure our pets are doing okay. I will always bring my pets to the PetsMart Banfield at the Whittwood! I feel so blessed that my pets always receive the best care!

Great vets, very caring and knowledgeable, but this location is really loud and the front desk staff regularly mess up. I recently called for a follow-up appointment (my previous Banfield vet in Albany, CA, scheduled that without fail at checkout), and the person who answered kept telling me that my pet had already had her Comprehensive Exam. Duh. But the Wellness Plan includes unlimited office visits at no cost, so there shouldn’t have been any problem scheduling the appointment. At a previous visit, I requested my pet have a “pedicure” while she there and it wasn’t done, and there was no record of the request. Another time I requested that my home hospital be changed to their location, and that didn’t happen. One person in particular, Laura, is just a dead end. “I don’t know” or “we can’t help with that here” is often her response — no effort to find out who actually might know the answer to a question or who to contact for help, let alone a number to call. Really frustrating, every time.

It is a great place good service but there are issues it is pretty expensive. Also if you take your dog here for a surgery or dental cleaning ask to talk to the surgeon or the doctor because the nurses do not explain right about what you need to look out for they just give you the dog medicine and don't help you go through what they did what your dog will fell they expect you to read the 10 page paper essay that they give you and some things are confusing but overall great place treat your dog with respect I will keep coming here to keep my dog healthy good job Whittwood mall pet smart!!

Banfield Pet Hospital | Sep 4, 2020

You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

Banfield Pet Hospital | Sep 4, 2020

Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
