I had a really great experience at LA Sight. Dr. Wallace and his team are simply outstanding. From the consultation to the day of surgery and even follow up appointments, the staff here have been extremely informative, accommodating, and helpful throughout the entire process. In regards to the procedure, it was very simple and painless. Before the surgery, I had a slew of questions that were answered by the doctors and even had additional testing done due to some concerns/preexisting issues. The doctors truly want to make sure you're a good candidate for the surgery and are making an informed decision-I'm very thankful for that. I've had a great recovery and haven't even experienced the dryness that is a commonly reported. I spent 1 day/night total recovering and was back to work and daily activities the very next day. Overall, this was a really amazing experience and I really attribute that to the excellent staff at LA Sight. I think Jodi was particularly exceptional. If you get the chance to work with her throughout your care with LA Sight you are really in for a treat. She is kind, understanding, extremely funny and I think really goes above and beyond to make patients/clients feel welcomed and cared for. She really makes you like you're the only patient at the eye center and has this unique way of connecting with people. I hope while you're researching surgeons and places to undergo Lasik that you really consider LA Sight. Again, they have a great team, skillful surgeons/doctors, and great outcomes. I definitely recommend them and wish I would've done this sooner.

Dr. Wallace was very knowledgeable and caring to my questions about Lasik. They took good care of me and I felt in good hands during pre-op, operation and post op. Almost a year later and my vision is still crystal clear. It truly is one of the best decisions I ever made and the folks at La Sight are pros.

All staff is amazing! They know what they are doing and they all work so well together. The office is a well oiled machine. Such a smooth process from consultation to post op. Everyone makes sure you are comfortable and doesn't leave any information out! They go over every step of the way throughly and take the time to answer any additional questions you have. The actual surgery was painless and took less than 5 mins for both eyes. Dr. Wallace talks to you during the procedure and tells you what is going on and they even count down for you. Then I got up from the bed and could already see 50% better! That quick. By the next morning at my post op appointment I was already seeing 20/20! Worth every penny and if you want a great experience go to LA sight! I literally have nothing bad to say! Thank you for my sight! You all are fantastic!!!!!

LOOK NO FURTHER!!! PUN INTENDED! I did a ton of research, met with several eye surgeons but Dr. Wallace and LA Sight were BY FAR the best. There is a reason why all their reviews are 5 stars. As a photographer who uses a large format camera system that requires a lot of precision focus that is done manually, I was absolutely terrified of ever getting laser eye surgery. Dr. Wallace made me feel so calm and safe, as did his entire staff. They are truly wonderful. Even the office it's self is calm and inviting. If you are seriously considering laser eye surgery, RUN, don't walk, to LA Sight - they are the best in town. I am so grateful that I no longer have to wear annoying glasses that fog up or dry and scratchy contact lenses to focus my camera! It really feels like a miracle. I wish I had done it years ago!

can i get this surgery as an 18 year old

Kevin A | Sep 4, 2021
LA Sight | Sep 4, 2021

The simple answer is "yes" as FDA permits people 18 years of age and older to have LASIK. The better answer is more nuanced, layered. Three factors impact any decision about whether or not to have LASIK in the younger age range: 1. At 18, the eyes are still growing and the prescription can be expected to change over time. While we do build in some "growing room" when treating younger patients, we also extend the period of reduced-cost "enhancement" or touch-up care for a period of two full years after treatment. 2. LASIK carries a significant cost, typically out of reach of the average teenager's budget. For this reason, many younger patients bring a parent to their consultation. I think people make better and more considered decisions when their own money is on the line. 3. Occupation. If you are contemplating this for military service, or have athletic or occupational requirements, we're very supportive. Every individual is different! Hope this helps.

Hello! I would like to clarify if I can do a Lazik at your place in August.? I am 65, farsighted +6, cash payment. When do I need to come to a consultation? The price for one eye (1750 ) includes all procedures?

Svetlana Ovodenko | Sep 4, 2021
LA Sight | Sep 4, 2021

Greetings, Svetlana, If your prescription is farsighted in the +6.00 range, and if you are 65 years of age, I would advise lens-based surgery rather than LASIK. This is similar to cataract surgery with lens impplantation, but can be done before the eye's natural lens becomes cloudy, for optical reasons such as yours. You are welcome to brose the content on the cataract and lens-based care section of our website, https://www.la-sight.com/services/cataracts/cataract-symptoms/. Cost for cataract-style surgery is quite a bit more than for LASIK, but it is a much better "one-and-done" solution with excellent long term stability. Lens replacement (with a multifocal or extended depth of focus "EDOF" lens) can also restore clear vision at far, intermediate and near range which is not possible with LASIK, which can only at best adjust for a single point of focus. I am near the limit Google allows on length of response; hope this is helpful. Please call my office for further Q&A. Thanks!

do you guys make payments plants?

Hugo Ramirez | Sep 4, 2020
LA Sight | Sep 4, 2020

Hugo, It's often more efficient to call the office and ask a Q like this than through any online portal. The answer is, yes, we offer affordable financing programs, typically through CareCredit. Please call the office for further details, at 310-828-2020. Thanks!

Do you offer payment options?

Tigrillo Reynoso | Sep 4, 2020
LA Sight | Sep 4, 2020

HI, Tigrillo, We offer several options for patient financing of laser vision correction care. If you have a credit card and want the miles or other affinity benefits, you can use that. We also have options for financing through CareCredit and Alphaeon that offer affordable financing. You can learn more about these options from our surgical coordinators at tthe time of your LASIK consultation. Hope this helps, Dr. Wallace and the staff at LA Sight

When paying for surgery can you do a payment plan or must you pay in full payment? Just wondering since I believe I may pay out of pocket.

Jackie Cardona | Sep 4, 2020
LA Sight | Sep 4, 2020

HI, Jackie, We do offer several affordable financing programs with payment plans. One of my counselors will be happy to review these options with you at the time of your consultation. Thanks,

How much is parking?

Ash H | Sep 4, 2020
LA Sight | Sep 4, 2020

Ash, Thanks for yoru inquiry. Steven's answer was good but incomplete. My understanding is that a if you make a minimal purchase from Coffee Bean on the ground floor of our building, they will validate for one hour of parking. If a consultation visit takes less than an hour, there would be no charge to you for parking. If the visit takes over an hour, you would pay only the cost for the amount over the first hour. The parking lot is not managed by us and my office has no control over their choice of policies, rates or fees. In a perfect world I'd own my building adn offer free parking to patients but, alas, that era seems to have passed us by. If ridesharing is an option (Lyft or uber) then there's no need to pay for parking. ;-). There is not very decent street parking on Federal Avenue, sorry to say. There are signs jannouncing no parking on one side of the street on Thursdays, and on the other side on Fridays. Occasionally people do get lucky, but no guarantees... Thanks!

Do you guys accept insurance? Or this a private medical surgery?

Puchicaman a | Sep 4, 2020
LA Sight | Sep 4, 2020

Esteban, Vision correction surgery is elective, not covered by any standard health insurance plans. In that regard it is similar to aesthetic surgery, cosmetic dermatology and cosmetic dental care. Frankly, we prefer it this way, and I think people make better decisions when it is their own money on the line. Thank you,

Hey, Firstly I would like to know whether I'm a candidate or not for lasik. how much will you charge for this?

Adarsh | Sep 4, 2020
LA Sight | Sep 4, 2020

Thank you, Grace, you are correct. Consultations at our office for elective vision correction care such as LASIK are provided on a complimentary basis for those that have had no prior vision correction surgery. For those who have had primary treatment at another center, there is a slight charge. Adarsh, kindly call our office to schedule an appointment if you would like, at 310-828-2020. kind regards, Dr. Wallace and the staff at LA Sight

How much they charge for both eyes??

Jaspreet Kaur | Sep 5, 2019
LA Sight | Sep 5, 2019

Jaspreet, We currently ask $1,400 per eye for “basic” treatment using a microkeratome to create the delicate LASIK flap, or $1,750 per eye for “all-laser” LASIK” where flap creation is done with a Zeiss VisuMax femtosecond laser. We typically recommend laser flip creation in situations where corneal thickness is on the slender side and or the prescription being treated is on the higher side, as laser technology allows us to create a more slender flap with tighter depth tolerance than the mechanical microkeratome. In many cases there is no compelling reason to recommend laser flip creation and in those cases patients are able to make a decision that fits their desires, technology preferences and budget, Kindly call my office at 310-828-2020 to speak with one of the members of out Exoerience Team if you would like to learn more, or want to schedule a complementary consultation. Thanks!
