This review is for the minimal effort that Dr. Behzad places in delivering patient-centered care. As a patient of Dr. Behzad, I had to make the effort to engage myself in the delivery of my dental care. I will make some time to educate Dr. Behzad a thing or two about patient-centered care. Wow, this is ironic. Here is the denotation of patient-centered care: "In patient-centered care, an individual’s specific health needs and desired health outcomes are the driving force behind all health care decisions and quality measurements. Patients are partners with their health care providers, and providers treat patients not only from a clinical perspective, but also from an emotional, mental, spiritual, social, and financial perspective" (NEJM Catalyst). In patient-centered care, you ensure that your patients are informed enough so that they can make informed decision for their own dental care. In the brief moments that I had the opportunity to ask questions, I will admit that the clarity of his explanations were unsatisfactory. If you come here, do not be surprised if you find yourself with a dentist who thinks that it is appropriate to use his own judgement to make decisions for your dental care without properly informing you. Spending insufficient time with patients and the subpar communication were both very concerning as they may be an indication of the quality of dental care. Anyway, I sincerely hope that Dr. Behzad acknowledges my feedback and is able to improve in these areas. Update: Noticing that I was prematurely charged for a night guard (my insurance covered 50%) 5 months ago, I made an appointment to pick them up. Dr. Abadi presumptuously rebuked me for having written an honest review (see above). He refused to give me the night guard which both my insurance and I had already paid for. I am not intimidated by his demeanor as I know that this is unacceptable. All health professionals including dentists should be upheld to high ethical standards. Side note: This review is solely for Dr. Abadi. The dental hygienist and his staff are friendly and accommodating.
