I feel that my four Guinea pigs have been in great hands with Dr. Marcucci. She comes off as very experienced with small mammals which put me at ease when I took all my girls to her for first time well checks. I opted to move forward with surgery on one pig for removal of a few probably benign subcutaneous growths to have more reliable diagnostic info than the single fine needle biopsy could reveal. Dr. Marcucci showed great clinical judgment with my Guinea pig’s case and I am very happy with the care she received. We confirmed the growths were benign and Kisses made a smooth and quick recovery from surgery. All the staff are very caring and I trust them with the care of my littlest family members.

My little Green Cheek Conure couldn't bear weight on her little left feet after a fall. I was having the hardest time, sleepless night after failed to find an emergency pet hospital that care for avian on the weekend. I called all possible pet hospitals, asking for references, but when I called to those other hospitals, none could accept my visit with my bird. Eventually I was able to get hold of the wonderful receptionist by the name Asia of Bay Area Bird Hospital yesterday ( Monday) morning and she was so kind to schedule me in for an emergency service within an hour and a half. Dr Marcucci gave a quick examination to make sure my bird was not injured anywhere else. I truly appreciate the careful handling and professionalism of her and her staff. Julia helped to administer the first dose of the medication, patiently taught me how to do it at home. I cannot express how grateful I am. I can truly feel how much they care for animals. Thank you so much. The pricing is reasonable and the location of this hospital is convenient, with many free street parkings. I am praying hard now that it is just a strained muscle/tendon and that my bird’s leg will be better within next two days ( she was able to use that left leg to scratch her face after the medication, and seemed to be in less pain), otherwise I am definitely bring her in again for further evaluation.

Handled our elderly (30+ year old ball python) aggressively/by the neck because they "didn't have time" to pick him up correctly. Staff were unprofessional and did strange things, like putting him under a heat lamp for only a minute. Doctor seemed like she didn't know much about ball pythons either, as she was reading to us from a pamphlet about ball pythons during our appointment...

I Highly DO NOT Recommend Dr. MARCUCCI if your pet is a Bearded Dragon. I originally went to see this doctor because my Beardie wasn't really eating much and I felt he was having shedding issues. After being seen by the doctor, since the very first day the vibe I received from her was not too pleasant. I felt rushed, she seemed uninterested about what I was saying, I tried to show my terrarium setup for any possible suggestions regarding proper lighting but she didn't care to see it. I took a few notes in regards to what she was saying and when I didn't understand her and asked her to clarify she gave me a look of frustration and made me feel stupid for not understanding her, more than once. I felt no compassion at all from her. But for my Beardies sake I held back my tongue. Every time I saw the doctor she always seemed in a rush and limited with time. I did not like the way she spoke to her employees either but I know that's irrelevant. Overall her professionalism and interaction with clients and employees was not positive. I spent over $600. I was led to believe that my Beardie was not well and needed all these procedures. Right away from the first visit she suggested I syringe feed him, then suggested needle antibiotics after receiving his blood work results and also suggested xrays and a fecal sample. After receiving the xrays she decided not to go through with the needle antibiotics and suggested an ultrasound. She then mentioned that depending on the ultrasound he may need surgery. Everything just kept leading to more and more tests procedures etc. Something was telling me to get a 2nd opinion because it seemed as though she just wanted to keep charging me for procedures that maybe my Beardie didn't really need. I decided to inform the vet that I was going to hold off on the ultra sound. I requested all of my Beardies diagnostics and decided to go to another veterinary hospital.  Sure enough after seeing this highly recommended Doctor just one visit he assured me I had nothing to worry or stress about. He stated that I was doing a great job with my Beardie and that he was very alert and overall very healthy nothing concerning. Even after reviewing all of the diagnostics from the previous doctor he said that some of the tests were unnecessary and that I did not even need to syringe feed him!! He said all of the results seen in the diagnostics were normal nothing too concerning!!! Then ended my visit with him stating that many Beardies experience Brumation during this time of the year it is very normal for them to act in this manner!!!!! I was very hurt and upset and felt that I had been taken advantage of. A vet is supposed to know simple things such as Brumation!!! There was no need for me to have put my Beardie through everything I did. Especially force feeding him through a syringe which I could tell was not having a positive outcome. I do not want anyone else to go through this and this is why I have chosen to share my experience.
