No good at all. Had to call the state several times for my father due to the severe heat in his room. The poor quality food. I can't even taste my self. The staff never answers the call lights, my dad will go for hrs in pain. He calls me crying. A lot due to his pain or that he's so soak in urine that he has burns on his body from it. He was left like this for hrs. Also no one answers the phone and I come to find out its because staff are sleeping on the job. Please do not send family here. Oh and they have this male cna I've seen him at least 3 time. The guy was seriously drunk everytime. Where is the head guy to take care of it? No where that I could find.

My father had heart surgery at Riverside Community Hospital in September of 2018. After the surgery he was extremely weak and the hospital recommended that he go to Cypress Gardens for physical therapy. This was to be a short stay, two weeks at the most. On my father's first full day at Cypress Gardens, he tried to use the bathroom and started to fall. My mother and I caught him, got him back into bed, and immediately informed the head nurse, at the nurses' station (as well as his personal nurse) what had happened and that my father was a FALL RISK. I actually used the words, "FALL RISK." This was on a Saturday. On the following Monday night, I received a phone call from Cypress Gardens that my father had fallen and hit the back of his head. The person on the phone told me that my father was found on the floor, near his bathroom. I was also told, he had a small cut on the back of his head that needed a few stitches and that was all. The person stated that my dad was to be taken to a nearby hospital and I was not needed, because he was fine and would return to Cypress Gardens that same night. I was told to wait at home for a second phone call. Around midnight, I received a second call from Cypress Gardens. The person on the phone, from Cypress Gardens, stated that as a precaution, due to my dad's recent heart surgery, he was returned to Riverside Community Hospital. It turns out that the cut to my father's head was NOT a small thing. Riverside Community Hospital diagnosed my father with blood on his brain and swelling due to his fall at Cypress Gardens. Within hours the left side of my dad's body was paralyzed. This was an adventure from hell for my family as after a few days my father slipped into a comatose state. (Recall he was at Cypress Gardens for physical therapy! It was to be a brief stay.) At this time, my mother, who is half blind, had just gone through a major eye surgery. She was unable to drive. After my father's fall, Cypress Gardens promised to give her rides to Riverside Community Hospital, so she could be with "her husband," my father. She was given ONE ride to the hospital. (I drove her home.) After that ONE ride, Cypress Gardens stopped returning my mother's phone calls, where she requested more rides to the hospital. My father, who never woke up from his comatose state, died one week after his fall at Cypress Gardens. An official inquiry was done by the authorities. They listed my father's head injury as the cause of his death. This is on my father's death certificate. Two days before my father died, I personally went to Cypress Gardens to get his belonging. I informed the nurses at the nurses' station, including the same head nurse, whom I had told that my father was a "fall risk," that my father was comatose because of the head injury, he obtained at Cypress Gardens. Not one person at Cypress Gardens offered me so much as a word of comfort. When my father was dying at Riverside Community Hospital, Cypress Gardens never called me to ask how he was doing. When he died they NEVER reached out to my family. The reason why it has taken me over a year to write this accounting of my father's treatment at Cypress Gardens, is because it has taken me this long to write a "civil" review of this center. I wish to God, my mother and I had not put my father at Cypress Gardens for physically therapy. I can't help but believe he would still be with us if we hadn't.

I wanted to take this opportunity to complement the TEAM at Cypress Gardens for providing my Mom's support in her recovery. When you look for a facility to care for a loved one it truly is a very difficult experience to make the right decision for a great facility. Most of the time you have a very short window from hospital to facility to move your loved ones. I was very lucky to find Cypress Gardens. Overall, a great experience. From the onset of meeting Carol in Admissions I felt very comfortable with making the choice to have Mom recover from her illness at Cypress Gardens. The team is loving, caring and trying to help each patient. They truly try to make your loved one's experience the best. They are very friendly and have lots of activities for the patients to provide balance for everyone during their recovery. I would strongly recommend this facility. I also wanted to complement Tiffany the RN that worked many of the shifts that I was there with my Mom. She is very hands on and always trying to meet and exceed the expectations for the patients and my Mom. I could always rely on Tiffany's follow through with my requests and I was ALWAYS a very active health care advocate for my Mom. If you are looking for a facility that will take good care of your loved ones, take a very close look at Cypress Gardens Care Center. Thank you to the entire team for your AMAZING SUPPORT in caring for my Mom. Best Regards to all of you!!

Everybody was wonderful, good staff. My mom loved the place and people for the exception of one individual, always has to be a bad apple, Tiffany the grown (child-like) women with a attitude problems, which shouldn't be answering phones and talking to the public. I don't want to think how she treats the patients. I hope my mom never had to deal with her (it). Thank you Cypress for everything. Do yourselves a favor get rid of the bad apple.

How often do you give physical therapy to a stroke victim?

A Google User | Sep 5, 2019
Windsor Cypress Gardens Care Center | Sep 5, 2019

Good morning, Thank you for taking the time to write us asking how often we provide physical therapy for stroke victims. The amount of physical therapy that any of our patients get is determined by how much therapy the doctor orders, how much therapy the patient can tolerate, and how much the insurance is willing to cover. I hope this answers your question. At Cypress Gardens Care Center, residents and families are #1, and we want to make sure we are delivering that same experience to our potential patients or family members. Thank you so much for reaching out to us, and we’d be happy to answer more questions for you and/or take this topic into more detail with you.
