Very easy! I used the 24/7 self service kiosk (at 8pm—so after hours). There was no line thankfully! And it took less than 3 minutes to complete the testing. The kiosk guides you throughout the process, so it’s very easy to use. I watched a YouTube video beforehand on how to do it, and that made it even easier. Lol It’ll be helpful to know where your vehicle’s connector is beforehand (it’s easy to find in between the wheel and gas pedal). All I needed was my License plate #, the last 4 digits of my VIN, and my debit card to pay the $10 fee! It took less than 5 minutes.

Good one! Especially employees are very nice and friendly. I was there around 5pm, traffic was very less.

I arrived at this location around 11am this morning. First time having to do this. So I’m new to this. The young guy that assisted me was great. No line and i was done in less then 4 minutes.

Was inappropriately charged a $15 "late fee", even though an on-line extension had been previously approved and was in full-effect. Technician was helpless to do anything. Calls to main MDOT are met with "call the station directly", but no direct number is posted for the East Baltimore location. Maryland government - dysfunctional, again.

List of exempt vehicles: http://www.mva.maryland.gov/about-mva/info/58000VEI/58000-06T.htm#appendix_c 1995 and older is exempt. I believe this is due to the OBD test available on 1996 and newer models. By exempting 95 and older, they can decommission the rollers, sniffers, and gas cap testers. I do not believe this is a 'rolling change' as I just got a notice for a 1997. At 20 years, you can get Historic tags, but you are not allowed to drive historic tagged vehicles to work or school.
You must have your vehicle re-tested until it passes the required VEIP tests or until you receive a repair waiver. To be eligible for the waiver you must have madeemissions-related repairs to your vehicle totaling at least $450.00. The cost of an emissions-related repair can be counted if it was made: during the 30 days before the initial VEIP test; or,on the day of the initial VEIP test; or,during the period following the initial VEIP test and prior to the last failed test. To apply for the repair waiver, you also must complete and submit to the VEIP station the repair waiver request (on the reverse side of the vehicle emissions inspection certificate) and the original invoices, receipts and/or repair orders for the emissions-related repairs. A Station Representative will visually inspect your vehicle to verify that all emissions equipment is present and that the repairs you paid for were completed. Federal and state laws may not allow the costs worrepairs t
Just show up, they'll run your VIN.
The kiosk is 24-hours follow the instructions on the screen and pay at the kiosk. Really fast and easy took me less than 5 minutes
Yes, it is
get the engine light off then get fuel injection cleaner and drive car for two days not sure how many miles but wait two days then go to get it emissions and you will pass
Yes they do have a self service kiosk
I am not sure if you can do that.
You have to go to a veip station for that
It's 24 hours
You can keep waiting or you can go to the emissions station and ask the desk if you can go ahead and get the car tested. The notice could have gotten lost in the mail. They can look up your car's VIN even if you don't have the paper.
Yes, if you're stopped be sure to have your paper work for the emissions on you. You won't be able to just drive around like that though. You can drive on expired tags if you're going directly to MVA to get permanent ones. Just know you will get stopped and questioned, don't lie.
$14 for the full service lanes. $10 for the self service kiosk.
No. The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) will close all offices on Saturday, October 7 and Monday, October 9 in observance of Columbus Day. All Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) stations will also be closed. MDOT MVA’s self-service VEIP kiosks will remain open.
