This monument is well maintained and taken care of by the management and crew of Shepherdstown. But there is no public restrooms in the awesome park at all. The views of the river are very memorable and you could see packhorse ford which was once used a very long time ago By The Way. The monument is well maintained

The man James rumsey invented the first steamboat in shepardstown, wv. This monument has a great view of the Potomac river that stretches and can see a great view of the Shenandoah valley. Easy hike up the steps. Kid friendly!

If you can get down to the river. Best to go to the end of Princess Street, where the river is easily accessible.
