Follow Chasing Shots on IG for more photos! Explorers Dream✨ This place was pretty cool. I liked that there are restrooms and many places to sit if you wanted to rest or take in the views. There are trails through the woods which are fairly easy to navigate if you stay on the main paths. It was interesting and recommended for those who like to explore a bit!

One of the best places you can go to when you want to be alone with your thoughts and catch a breather. Plenty of trails to hike on and streams where you can skip rocks. It's fun looking at the dilapidated houses and reading about the history of Feltville. There's also Trailside museum not too far from here if you want to take your kids or friends.

The Deserted Village of Feltville is on the NJ and National registers of historic places, mostly for its development as a self-sufficient mill town in the mid-1800s. The site dates to the colonial era settlement of Peter's Hill. In 1845, it was developed by David Felt as a company town that ultimately had 175 residents, but by the 1870s the village was abandoned. In the 1880s, it was purchased and turned into a Victorian summer retreat named Glenside Park. During the 1920s, the Watchung Reservation was created to protect undeveloped natural land, and during the Great Depression the government did rent out houses in Feltville. Today, it appears NJ is restoring and preserving the site, with many buildings off limits for stabilization and preservation. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the site! It is a great location for photos.

It can be a little busy but a cool place to visit and explore.

If you walk some of the trails with the burnt out girl scout buildings, you may feel a cold chill in the air. But the actual village itself has no sign of having ghosts. Not during the day anyways.
Yes.
Archaeological site. You could get fined if caught. And if you find anything and keep it, it's considered theft of artifact, which can be a serious crime depending on the object found. If you try to sell it, well....
They were in pretty bad shape
That's a bad idea, it's on the national list of historic places. Taking anything from the area could result in a pretty hefty fine.
I think some people live there. Probably be caretakers. These are extremely old homes. I can see how somebody could get hurt
Yes, toward the front
Not the wedding, but my daughter bridal, baby shower, love the place.
Some people live in the deserted village so you would need to get permission to use the abandoned houses but you can't use the ones that people live in. Here is a random tip. Use the burial ground in a scene. You can also find out about how people died and who did. That would help you wih the movie.
Yep, several of the houses are occupied. Though most are deserted.
