Shawnee is a great family mountain in North East PA. One of the things I love about it is the lodge. It hasn't changed much and in my opinion that's a good thing. It feels good when you step inside and warm up next to the huge fireplace. I've been going there since I was a kid and now I bring my kids and it makes me happy just being there. There are plenty of trails ranging from beginners all the way up to the terrain park.

Excellent place for skiing, snow tubing... Instructors are awesome, all rentals you can get. There's a nice lounge too...

I gave this place 1 star because we've been snow tubing numerous times and have had several turns riding down the slope. But when we went they just opened for the season and they overbooked. Despite Covid and distancing and shortages etc, they still overbooked and made it a non fun experience that the kids and myself were looking forward too. You get a 90 min block and for a family of 4 we only went 4 times‼️ Again this is not my 1st time tubing with the family. Usually it's 5 of us and we each would slide at least 8 or more times. Especially when your paying $45 per person. There was only 3 lanes open and unfortunately only 2 gentleman working the lanes. One of them had to do 2 lanes rotating between riders therfore one line out of the 3 were extremely long. The mountain was ridiculously crowded and the "magic carpet" to bring you to top of mountain was full as well. Again they overbooked and it fell on the customer with the long lines and added wait times between rides. Which was no less than 20 minutes each time. Resulting in 4 rides. This was such a waste of money we were utterly disgusted. So I went to Customer service to file complaint. While young lady was working with another customer who wanted to switch tickets, she stated no snow tubing available because they don't like to overbook so it's an enjoyable experience. Well that was laughable. Even after speaking to supervisor who stated 4 rides is feasible for this time of year and with social distancing etc...I had to cut him off to remind him there is no room to social distance on top of mountain and I counted 86 ppl alone not including the ones on magic carpet making there way up. After I mentioned that he said that wasn't too many people. Clearly it is if it's no standing room and you practices need to align with Covid guidelines. He made absolutely no sense. We weren't satisfied. It wasn't rectified. We will not return. Too overcrowded.

Everyone was so nice as soon as you step in. There are people along the way directing you. We went Christmas day and it was very smooth. They have rentals and lessons for people who want to ski. We just went snow tubing and it was very organized. We had an amazing time.

That still never answered the question... Plus I wish I could say I enjoyed the runs but a 20-30 min wait for a crowded 3 minute run and closed trails in the prime of the season really made it impossible to enjoy and made it seem like a waste of time and money
Yes, they will be open
This was my first time ever going snowboarding/skiing. I think i should of done it when i was younger and skinnier LOL. I unfortunately didn't take any lessons, probably would of been helpful, but I definitely had a great time!
Hello! No, pets are NOT allowed at Shawnee Mountain (unless your dog is a registered service animal).
As an employee of the mountain, I can safely say it should be on Delaware for a few years because A: it keeps all the park rats together on one side of the mountain, and B: they would need to move everything back over if they wanted to change it. There at one point was a conversation about moving the nastar course to bushkill. But that probably won't happen
No
No.
Yes they rent the whole outfits but you need to buy the googles for safety
The waiver for the 20/21 season can be found here: https://www.shawneemt.com/sites/default/files/2021%20Shawnee%20Mountain%20Snowtubing%20Release%20Form.pdf
They do have indoor water parks and kids play areas
Usually not. This year weather is not helping...
No not always that bad. I was there yesterday and all lanes were open with very little wait
There are 2 hours tickets or 4 hours or six hours. Depend on how much you want to stay. We paid 30 dollars for 2 hours tickets per person even toddlers. Same price. Each activity is paid separately.
8AM to 9PM during holiday schedule. Look for precise hours on their website. Have fun.
They probably have a 20-30" base. Morning groomed trails are nice but basically washed out and ice in the later part of the day.
The mountain and the area isn't that big. There is always the parking lot (joke)
Yes, you don't have to pay if you are not using the lift and tools
Russ is right. It's the best for families. If you buy the tickets online you might even be able to spend less on the whole rental+class+LT package
The slopes are decent but not extreme
Yes, Shawnee Mountain will be open from 8am-9pm on New Year's Eve.
It's posted on their website that it's $30 during the week and $45 for the weekend. That's for 4 Hour
Hello! Our snow tubing will be open from 1pm-5pm today. Please see the rates here: https://www.shawneemt.com/snow-tubing. Please see our holiday hours here: https://www.shawneemt.com/mountain/hours-operation
5 PM if there is no night time skiing.
No. Shawnee inn resort is the closest.
July 14th and 15th
25-30 years there were cross cointry trail but trail expansion put an end to it. The interrest was not there enough and cost maintain CC trails put an end to what was left. We do by special arrangement have nordic downhill(aka telemark) I am the only tele instructor at the mountain. Upstate NY and New England have cross country resorts and depending on the Skytop Lodge in Candensis, Pa the have cross country equipment available. Best thing to do to find CC skiing is online searches.
For adults: equipment rental is $40 does not include helmet, helmet rental is $15. I paid for equipment rental and lift tickets $105. So then lift must be $65 as 105 - 40 is 65. That price did not include helmet as i had my own. Lessons are another $40 but if you go to the lesson area and pay there you get lesson, equipment and lift for $105 about $120 if you need helmet. So you save $40. If you pay at the normal window first the ski school will charge you the $40 as you did not get the package deal from them. Guess the ski school and mountain are separate entities unless you purchase from the ski school.
I agree!
⛄Dress warm head to feet...consider eye / ear protection when boarding..⛷.Shawnee Mtn is great and you can rent everthing you need including a locker for excess and valuables Tell Henry the snow tube tech I said Hello....... 🏂
They also have a Days Inn near by.
Yes, they offer snowboard lessons for children and adults.
They do. Do a google search. Sometimes you'll find even more discounts
Christmas eve hours are 9am -5pm and Christmas day is 12pm - 5pm
like others suggest, call the guest services department. They may accommodate, especially since you're not trying to upgrade a day. It may depend on where you bought the ticket as well.
