I was treated for severely degenerated disc disease on August 28, 2020 at UCLA Orthopedic Hospital in Santa Monica. It’s difficult to find the words to express how deeply appreciative I am to all the amazing people who were involved. I experienced the highest level of professionalism, skill and empathy at every step of the experience. It is now almost a year since the surgery and I’ve just returned from a gratifying follow-up visit. I healed more quickly than I expected and my previous symptoms are gone. I no longer have the related pain, burning, numbness and weakening of my hands. I feel humbled and fortunate to unconditionally, and enthusiastically recommend Dr. Lu, his staff and the UCLA Orthopedic Hospital.

My husband had a spinal fusion surgery with Dr Lu. Dr Lu was amazing, his staff was amazing, our entire experience was AMAZING. Even our arrival on surgery day was impressive, from the doorman to the discharge nurse. We'll never go anywhere else. Can't say enough.

Everyone is friendly...the only problem I have is with the security guard. He sees patients struggling with a wheelchair to enter the facility and won't offer to get the door. Once I saw him look up from his cellphone while I was struggling with the door.and he just kept looking at his phone.....I know that isn't his job but he could still be a gentleman and offer his assistance. Other than that, most of the front desk staff is friendly. The nurses are nice and the Dr is great. Oh and they offer complimentary hot beverages!!!

I’m very surprised at the negative reviews. We had Dr Luke Macyszyn and he saved my nephew’s life when everyone else wanted to give up on him. He was so skilled that despite a 20 hour surgery and 3 weeks in intensive care, my nephew was off pain meds in 3 days after coming home. He also had a very patient/centered approach and took what we said seriously. The staff there was VERY helpful in helping us battle with the insurance in getting everything my nephew needed. To quote my nephew, “I used to hate doctors but they have changed my mind.”

Questions & Answers

Hi, I'm from Bangladesh and my boyfriend lives in California. It's been 3 days, he didn't talk to me and his phone isn't receiving any calls. He had an appointment in UCLA spine Center. Can I get his information from here to communicate with him?
