Went to Shop-Rite of Newton today first time that I have been there in months. Terrible. Long wait on line because there weren't enough cashiers. I don't know if their air-conditioning was broke or turned down very low. The store was hot and the wait on line was extremely long. My ice cream was literally half melted when I got home, that's a first. Won't be going back anytime soon, realized how much I didn't miss this store.

Produce department is a little small but everything was in stock. Good experience!

In most cases they have worked very hard to keep prices down. One example is the price of eggs. They were not affected by inflation but the bird flu. Newton Shop Rite egg prices were lowest of all other stores.

Great service in seafood today, picked up beautiful fresh scallops with a sale coupon. The sales associated offered to give me fresh stock that she was arranging and the next customer was so impressed he asked for same thing.
