My husband and I recently spent a 3-day weekend at the Inn made for the perfect get away. Convenient from the suburbs of Washington DC, a one-hour drive took us to this wonderful spot along the Potomac and the beauty of West Virginia. Everything was first-rate and provided a perfect setting to rest, relax and enjoy good food and a relaxed atmosphere. The rooms were spacious, the staff extremely welcoming and helpful, the wait-staff was every bit as good as the food, with a varied menu that didn’t try too hard and did everything we tried very well. The pool was a big favorite and the bar and setting exuded a vibe that screamed “relax and enjoy.” We did!! For such a laid-back setting it was apparent that the place is extremely well run, with great attention to detail, and did I mention that the staff was just outstanding – attentive, friendly and efficient. We even enjoyed views of two different bald eagles from our room and the pool. The guests ran from young couples to middle-age folks, reflecting the wide appeal of a well-run resort for those simply looking to get away and chill. Perhaps most impressive, our stay coincided with a very large birthday party but the level of service afforded to all guests didn’t miss a beat. What a find!

This place hit all the right notes for me. German food and a brewery attached to a venue with an amazing view. But for me the food was extremely bland. Looking around at the clientele explained why. I had the schnitzel gypsy style which normally has a little bit of heat attached to it but this was just a bit flat. That being said the food was well prepared and presented perfectly. I wonder if a meal like this would of been well received at this location by its guest if it had any sort of heat.

This is one of our favorite get aways. The Chalet we enjoy has a whirlpool bath, well appointed bathroom with folding door entrance, double vanity sink King size four poster bed, a gas fireplace , even a little sitting room section. The balcony views are amazing . We dined there for dinner. The menu has changed since the last time we dined there We could not really see any entrees to interest us except the crab cakes, which were excellent. The Triple Sec cheesecake dessert was best of show yummy ! Breakfast the next day was beyond wonderful. We both think this place is well worth many repeat stays in the future

One of our favorites for a night out. Food is always good and they have a good variety of options from traditional German food to wild game and American. Great onion soup. Service is fair. The only disappointment is the atmosphere. You walk into the old house and expect one experience but once you get to the restaurant seating it becomes very modern and sterile. I always hope for a more old world style charm but that's not it.

Yep! Under tents with heating
There was a sign covering up another sign that had a dress code on it. The sign on top said that, b/c of COVID, the dress code was not being enforced. I have no clue what the typical dress code was because my first visit was during the pandemic. I recommend business casual or dark jeans with a nice top. I would not go sloppy. As another mentioned, it would be a great place to dress for if you wanted to.
Yes, call or place order on site.
Yes & they do an excellent job of distancing the tables.
I didn't see a charging station there but that was a few months ago.
I believe it's 3:00 pm
You would have to call the Inn.
When this request came in, I wad on my cell with my deaf daughter. The call almost dropped. I usually have lunch a noon. Nine PM is the only time I get to chat with her she lives on the West Coast.
Yes they have a thanksgiving dinner special, but I would recommend reservations. Their website has the Thanksgiving menu.
