This place actually worked. I am now 52 days sober! I was discharged 21 days ago and I am feeling better than I have ever felt in my whole life. I am truly happy. I never thought sobriety would be so awesome. This facility changed my outlook on the world entirely.

I am very grateful to be sober and healthy. I’ve just completed the program and wanted to share what I experienced while at Monarch Shores. The website photos are not correct nor are any of that descriptions on living conditions. The detox house was OK and I felt the staff was compassionate and did the best they could. After detox, When you move on to the 1st house, be prepared for filthy living conditions. The catered food that was provided was sub par and most always some kind of chicken. I had one good case manager named Don. I also was happy with my therapist Sarah. As far as the actual Curriculum, they do not provide any Materials. They print things off the Internet and occasionally will give you a copy. I would NOT recommend Monarch Shores if this is your first time in an inpatient treatment center. You are really responsible to go and ask for everything that you need. I was a cash paying client and I feel like I did not receive the same services that the clients with insurance did. There was no communication between departments and it was very frustrating. It took three days for discharge papers to be emailed And I’m still waiting on a completion letter. Lastly and probably most importantly, if you are female and planning on doing the IOP program, I would recommend that you do not live in the house that is provided. My experience living there almost 2 months was horrific. I am so disappointed with the “ house managers”. I can’t write all of my experience because I want to keep this family friendly. My star rating would’ve been higher if it wasn’t for the things that went on in that house. I would advise you to look elsewhere.

It was my absolute PRIVILEGE to spend 60 days as a client of Monarch Shores Treatment Center. I can't begin to say enough great things about this place. The staff were incredible... and very caring, professional and attentive. The facilities are awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Coming to California from Virginia was a bit daunting and I didn't know what to expect. From Day One, I felt welcomed and supported. I felt at ease every step of the way. My stay was TRULY life-changing. I encourage anyone considering going to Monarch Shores to just do it. They really care about the well-being of their clients and have wonderful residences and programs. Kudos to them. I am forever grateful to everyone that I've met, staff and clients alike. I've made real connections there and friends for life. I am blessed and very happy I chose this Treatment Center. Lazarus Banks
