I went to this location tonight (June 2nd 2022) Myself, My child, and my fiance were treated very poorly due to the fact that we aren't local residents! It is a major baby formula shortage in the area I currently live in so myself and my fiance drove 35 mins out to be able to feed my son/ his step son and we were told that they could not sell us the 7 cans of baby formula I requested to buy because it needed to be saved for local residents! I had my son in my arms crying! As a mother I have never been so embarrassed and heartbroken in my life! We left that store not knowing where we would find formula or when my 6month old son would be able to get his next meal all because of blatant racism! A baby is a baby is a baby and NO MOTHER SHOULD EVER BE DENIED ACCESS TO BABY FOOD! As far as these people were considered my son could have starved tonight! Just because I don't live in a decent area doesn't mean that I am not a decent person! My only goal was to be able to feed my baby and these people turned that into one of the worse experiences I've ever had in my life! I will no longer go to this store! You do not treat people like that let alone an innocent baby! That was cruel! I will never forget this experience!

My girlfriend took her son there to try to purchase formula and they racially profiled her and told her that they needed to see her ID, once she gave it to them they told her they couldn’t sell her the formula since she wasn’t a local, she drove 35 minutes to get formula as there is a shortage only to leave with her hungry baby because they don’t want black people from low economic neighborhoods at their store! Told her that it was policy that only locals could buy formula! Shameful!! Disgusting and no heart for her hungry crying child! Going live on TikTok to discuss, & calling corporate! #cancelshoprite

This is the ONLY place I can find these Stuffed Mushrooms! Boy these are good, save you tons of money buying them as appetizers from Red Lobster, when Red Lobster food is not the same anymore. The store is always clean and fresh unique soup everyday.

An irate employee made an inappropriate comment to me so I started recording him with my phone. The employee continued to rant and insult me while a manager came over and started asking me questions. The manager did nothing to stop the employee but kept getting more and more aggressive with me. At this point I am being insulted by the employee and questioned by the manager (Chris) while the general manager (Mark) watches doing nothing to intervene all at the same time. The manager believes a privately owned store open to the general public means I can’t record. Before I could even explain why it’s legal to record in a privately owned store open to the general public during normal business hours, constituting a public space, in a 1 person consent state, which I consented, I was kicked out of the store. So why was I kicked out? For exercising my right to record in a public space the employee’s ranting and insults directed at me. I never got an opportunity to explain and answer all of the managers questions. All of which were asked while the employee was continuing to insult me. A week before this I had a problem with that same general manager (Mark) and an HR rep. I know the manager was reprimanded and I believe the HR rep was recalled to corporate for retraining, both for the way I was treated. Beware of this store and these managers. They do not care about their customers or corporate mandates. They do not care about our rights or NJ video recording laws. Their managers (Mark and Chris) are unnecessarily aggressive and are quick to make snap emotional choices instead of remaining calm, deescalating situations, and find a resolution to the problem. Kicking a customer out for exercising there rights while tolerating an employee’s repeated insults and rantings towards that customer does not resolve the situation properly. It only encourages the behavior of insulting and ranting at customers.
