Small state park with Washington monument in the center, huge construction is going on to make it nicer. History is written on the way to the monument which will enhance the tourists. A must visit park in Maryland.

Short trail up to the monument. Access to the top of the monument via small tight stone spiral staircase. Plenty of parking and facilities.

The entrance to continue on to the parking lot needs improvement. If you continue straight past the stop sign you come to the main area. Short hike to the monument, however if your looking for a longer hike you can jump on the Appalachian trail in several areas. Remember that this area does have bear's

So much history! The very easy 5 minute walk to the tower reveals amazing views of West Virginia and where the Antietam Battle would happen 35 years later.

I think it was $3. I remember putting $1 bill and a bunch of coins in the envelope. It is based on an honor system. As you enter the park, at the entrance, you will see a skinny metal short post on your left. Envelopes are provided.
It closes at sunset so most nights yes but it will close shortly after.
Tent camping is allowed by reservation and there isn't a basketball court but a playground with an open field.

Less than 1/4 mile. Path is slightly up hill going to the monument. Stroller would be fine.
