Our guide, William, was very knowledgeable! The second half of the tour is better than the first (which was not very exciting or beautiful). The train was also super fun! The gift shop was kinda meh

These are fairly "young" caverns geologically speaking, so the formations are not as extensive as some of the older caverns in the area. Our tour guide was very well informed and provided a great narrative during the tour. We enjoyed our tour as there were only 4 others with us some we could take our time and examine the caverns in some detail. The guide answered all our questions without hesitation. A very enjoyable and informative experience.

We came here at the end of October 2021. This cavern is smaller than Luray cavern but it is still worth a visit. The ticket includes a guided tour which was very informative but our guide talked so fast it was hard to catch some of the things she said. The price is cheaper than Luray caverns. Overall it was a great rainy day activity and recommended to visit this place if you’re in the area.

My 2nd visit and I loved it. It was a bit challenging but nothing too hard. It was actually pretty cool down there but not unbearable. I took many photos.

I'm not sure about that but I am confident that you will receive a discount. Thank you for your service sir.
There are several options nearby , but to the best of my info there aren't any that's run by the caverns management, though i Suggest contacting them directly for proper help
Tours are scheduled on an as needed basis for 15/20 minutes at the purchase of a ticket. They are not ran every 15 minutes but your wait time will not be more than 15/20 minutes, sometimes less if someone has already purchased tickets before you.
You can buy them in person don't know about online
Yes, but no flash photography is allowed, though it is not needed
Not sure about free days, but it's best to give them a call and see what kind of discounts they do.
Last tour is at 6pm
5 pm
54 degrees year round
When my husband and I went, it was 20 dollars per person. I'm not sure if there's a discounted rate for children. Definitely worth it either way though!
No train in cave its is a separate attraction
The caverns themselves, no. But the grounds around it should be fine if you're coming to picnic, etc.
If you can carry your dog for the majority of the tour, yes. (Tour lasts 1 hour) especially if it is a slow day
Around an hour. But plan for an hour and half overall trip from arriving to leaving!
These are underground caverns that you take a long tour through.
Apx 1 mile (2 minutes) south of Front Royal directly off US RT 340. Tours are between 1 and 1.5 hours depending on the size and amount of questions.
There are a total of 12 stairs going down and 61 stairs coming up. The pathways are sand and dirt and there are some inclines and declines but the Tour Guides make sure to point out rough spots and allow tourists to take their time walking in those areas. You will walk a mile and one eighth in total.
