overall a pretty good second hand shop, a hit or a miss, has good selection of jeans and jackets. but came here to sell, apparently you need to bring your stuff by 4. it was 4:03 and the lady at the counter turned us down

*Note*: At 4PM, they stop accepting clothing. At 6:30, they close the dressing rooms.* Customer service seems to now run by a bunch of impudent HS or privileged UCSC girls. Unprofessional, unkind, ungenerous. They are so strict with their arbitrary rules you would think they were a bunch of geriatric, miserly, God-fearing women. I came in when they opened and they told me they couldn’t sort through any of my clothes because their system was down and would “most likely” be down “all day”. I asked if I could at least get my stuff sorted and receive cash, not a credit, and that wasn’t an option. I drove over an hour specifically to sell my stuff here, as I have in the past without issue. They told me that I could come back “at the end of the day” and check in to see if the system was up and running again. Low and behold, I walk in at 3:50, about to leave SC, and a very prissy girl at the counter informed me that their system was up and running shortly after they opened, and that she couldn’t sort my stuff because they stop doing that at 4PM. Sorry but this is extremely rude and frankly, nasty behavior, even after I explained the situation to her. Due to their technological error, an exception should have been made. They certainly could have but they don’t care, and in their logic, why should they? It’s a corporate business. They don’t need your money and therefore customer service is null and void. The other most ridiculous and illogical policy they have is to allow customers to enter the store after 6:30PM, when they close the dressing rooms at that time. The store is open until 7. There is no sign when you walk in saying “Hey you can look until 6:30 but don’t bring a bunch of clothes to the dressing room to try on because you can’t access them”. If you want to close early, just do it. What is the point keeping the store open until 7 if nobody can try on clothes? I walk to the back of the store at 6:25 to try on a few jeans and they inform me I can use the mirror but not the dressing room. Ok. That makes perfect sense. I’m going to put the same clothes on the rack for you to put back regardless if I use the dressing room or not. Your workload doesn’t change. After this recent experience I won’t be coming here anymore, even if they once gave me a higher percentage and took most of my clothing. There is a reason why you should support local consignment and vintage rather than a corporation that allows management to treat customers like this.

I called in today and told Joanna that it was my first time coming in and asked if I could bring in clothes to sell she said yes and rushed me off the phone not mentioning that they had one big policy that you do have to show a driver license. After spending my time bringing in 5 bags of clothes and driving 30 minutes to get here Joanna then told me that I needed an ID. Which I just happened to forget. I have multiple other forms of ID including debit and credit cards a school ID and a photo of my birth certificate. I explained that I just forgot my license and asked if they could accommodate me in any way possibly by holding my clothes while I went home to get my ID so that I didn’t have to carry 5 bags of clothes back and forth. Joanna’s response to me was extremely rude she with an attitude pointed at the policy sign and refused to find an easier solution for me. The rude customer service from her was surprising especially here in Santa Cruz. As a woman myself who owns multiple small business here in Santa Cruz I completely understand the policy but expect higher from the customer service experience. All it takes is a little kindness. Just simply explain that you’d love to help and feel very bad for not clearly communicating the expectations and policies when I called prior to coming in and asked if I could bring my clothes in. But no, Joanna was rude unhelpful and had a snobby attitude… the worst type of person to have managing a store.

Really great selection of clothing, many name brand and high quality clothes at a relatively cheap price. The store is organized very neatly and the staff were super friendly and helpful. You'll find some real gems in this store!
