Inexpensive but equipment is well used and facilities a little run down First off I only used the four exercise and weight rooms. I did not use the pool or any other facilities. Cardio room:. The cardio room was actually pretty up-to-date and modern( see pictures). Most of the machines were relatively new, clean, and indecent condition Weight machine room: extremely old cybex equipment (see pictures). Not a lot of machines maybe 15 in total. So not a lot of options and since the machines were pretty old a lot of them did not have a means to reconfigure for different size people. Weight room (dumbbells and barbells):. Again also very dated (see pictures). If you're like me and have a bit of OCD with your plates it's very difficult to find the matching plates as there's probably three or four different brand plates to match up. So you kind of have to look around the room to find the matching plate for each size. Also I found the decline bench non-configurable and a bit large with no way to reconfigure. The dumbbells were missing a few sizes so you either had to jump up by 5 lb or do more reps. Cross fit room:. You'll have to look at my pictures for this one as I only briefly spend some time in here Overall you can't beat the price as it was $3 for why members, free for Y national members and who knows how much if you don't already have a Y membership. For me however, if you plan on doing resistance training and not cardio I would have rather spent the $15 to go to a newer gym down the road (Table Rock). If you only plan on doing cardio or swimming this might be the right place for you.

This is the best place I ever joined for community. My kids love all the people here and I take yoga classes and also use their work out rooms. Very clean and friendly place

Friendly staff and a good variety of exercise equipment. The memberships are a little expensive, but this is really the only general-use non-specific exercise center in Oneonta.

I don't believe so. I had one from a few christmases ago that I combined with one last year to use towards a membership. If I remember right there wasnt a date on the cards, and the people told me they dont expire. Hope I'm right! Good luck.

Do they have swimming lessons all year long

Stacy Fancher | Sep 4, 2018
Katie DeThomas | Sep 4, 2019

Swimming lessons run in “sessions” but happen throughout the year. There is typically a short intermission between sessions to allow for new enrollment and rest, but the short answer is yes: they happen all year.

How much are private swimming lessons for a 4yr old-- ??

Valentina Spry | Sep 4, 2018

Knowing the YMCA, it could be pricey for PRIVATE lessons but for a young child it won't cost as much but I don't know the exact cost. Hope this helps.
