Started coming here after new management took over. We ended up coming in 3 times a week for a short period of time. The sushi chefs have absolutely no personality. Its like talking to a wall. I noticed a woman who i recognized as a regular customer complaining that she was given yellowtail instead of yellowtail BELLY THEN she RAISED HER VOICE SAYING " I WANT BLUEFIN BELLY" NOT REGULAR TUNA. DONT GIVE ME SOMETHING DIFFERENT like trying to pass it off as something its not. I ask for spanish mackerel and received Japanese mackerel. Which if u know is much saltier. We ordered salmon sushi multiple times and always stringy poorly trimmed and not edible. We complained because this wasnt the 1st time. The sushi chef the only one who wears a mask is who we dealt with. Saying "u had our salmon" uh, obviously YES. He started making excuses and finally walked away. Never suggesting to make an order of salmon sushi correctly. We spent over one hundred and 60 dollars each visit. Plus Leaving a 22% tip. Never have i had such rude service toward myself and my guest. As well as witnessing the same attitude toward other regular customers. None of them Would even say goodbye. Barely saying hello. The stereotype that Japanese men have no personality and come off as rude is 100% true here at MUTSUMI. We have not and never will step back into this RUDE establishment again. VERY HAPPY 2 say we found a great sushi place in a better area with chef's who know good artistic presentation and know how 2 treat loyal customers. WITH a smile and a real sense of humor. Mutsumi you should be ashamed of yourself as a restaurant. "Never will i go or recommend this place again. I will not be CAUGHT here again".....

Good, solid sushi bar. Professional chefs, considerate staff, and high quality food. The first thing I look at when trying a new sushi place is the rice. If the rice is indifferent I know not to come back, because rice is the basic element in sushi. Here, the rice is as good as I’ve had anywhere. I usually order “omakase” and I have never been disappointed. If a dish is derived from frozen, instead of fresh stock, as my sweet shrimp was last visit, they advise you in advance to aid your decision. This restaurant is seriously committed to the sushi experience.

It was the highest quality sushi available near this neighborhood. I was impressed that all the workers were Japanese, and the people who made sushi were old Japanese grandfathers. I was just embarrassed because the food I didn't eat on the bill came out.

Mutsumi Sushi in Chatsworth is probably one of the better, if not the best sushi restaurant local to Chatsworth. They have a very nice selection of fish that rotates regularly. All of their fish is outstanding quality and very fresh. Seasonal items like sweet shrimp were available, and prepared fresh from their tank. Service is good and the chefs are very nice. I can't speak to their non-sushi items but for sushi, and sake, this is a win.
