The service and food were outstanding (especially the shrimp and grits). The craft beer selection was also great. Having a flight provides patrons a great way to taste different types of craft beers. Drekker Ectogasm IPA is my new goto IPA.

If I could give 10 stars out of 5 I would. So here's the story. We drove down from and arrived late to our accommodations. We wanted diner as we skipped it to get there. So we looked at what was closest and still open and arrived at 1836 like 930 pm. The kitchen was closed, we told the story and asked who was open, the cook was like yeah no one, but you know what we have some things still warm. So he made us an amazing meal after his closing time. If this wasn't enough to make me love this place the friendly staff amazing food and great atmosphere put over the top. I thank you so much for making us welcome and truly can not tell you how appreciative we are for all you guys did for us. We will remember your hospitality for the rest of our lives. Thank you. Now who ever hasn't gone here yet get off you rump and go, you won't be sorry!

Would have liked to try this place out. We came in for brunch, and were told to sit anywhere. We were never approached by a server, so we never received a menu. After sitting there for 20 minutes, we decided to leave when a table of 4 came in, sat right next to us, and had menus and a server within 2 minutes. The server informed the other party that brunch had ended earlier than their website indicated, so there really wasn't much reason to stick around on top of being ignored.

Went there for an event. Three of five of us ordered drinks & dinner; the others just wine. Service was superb and food received good reviews. We always feel welcomed at 1836 Kitchen & Taproom in Lovettsville, Virginia.
