I went to this place 3 times, during the month of January and February. I did skiing and snowboarding, and it was one of the best time I had. I got the lessons and the instructor were really nice and gave me good tips on how to manage the skii and the snowboard. When I went it didn’t snow for a while, so the snow there was fake snow, but it still wasn’t bad. I was there for the fun. All the time I went they were a lot of people, I don’t complain because it’s a very famous place. The food would take a while but that’s understandable for the amount of people that were there. You see a bunch of people of different levels of skiing and snowboarding. During my time there I had stay on the green street. During this trip I actually came with other groups of people and it was very enjoyable.

Great ski resort for family. I had my first ski lesson at this place. My instructor Mark was professional and patient. Thanks for your encouragement. Tips: The little pizza restaurant was my favorite. The employees are sweet. After 3:00 pm, there are on sale sometimes.

Insane first time snowboarding experience. A winter wonderland. If renting equipment, be prepared for a long queue line especially when visiting during snowy season. If you didn’t get to rent ahead of time, chances of getting equipment will be minimal

It's SoCal'a best option for skiing. If you like great snow, awesome runs, great service from staff, small crowds and decent prices, Bear Mountain is for sure NOT THE PLACE TO GO! Because it's close to LA, you can know for a fact it'll be crowded. If the staff worked a little harder at being efficient things would be so much better. The food is high priced, which is expected at a ski resort but they also ran out of food on multiple items. (How do you run out of hot chocolate at a ski resort?) You would think that management/resort operations would plan better for the busiest time of the year. Nope. If other options aren't available and there is fresh snow and you have more patience and money than you know what to do with, then yeah, visit this place. Oh yeah, lots of snowboarders. Like millions of 'em. All stacked up and sitting around the top of the mountain just after the chair lift drops you off. It's great that there are so many just sitting around, it helps skiiers hone their slalom skills when trying not to hit them. Super cool. 🤙🏼 If you're looking for quality it would be better to check out other resorts.

Hello, we do not offer clothing rentals, but Big Bear Sports does carry a wide selection of outerwear, accessories, and branded apparel.
If you are going to take a ski course there are packages with instructor, skis and lift ticket. I recommend reserving earlier to secure place. Reservations must be 2 days in advance.
Yes, 4wheel drive or not all vehicles must carry chains. R2 conditions two wheel drive cars must use chains and 4wd with m+s rated tires must carry them. R3 conditions even 4 wheel drive vehicles must use them. Weather conditions change rapidly up here and icey road conditions prevailent specially at night.
Not sure the have clothes rentals but snowboard, boots and helmet was about 40 bucks.
I guess activities 4 the whole family.I have a 7 and 8 yr olds ad well
For your question: what Bear Mountain Ski Resort said
At summit i belive. You should call and check. Call either summit resort or bear mountain resort they could tell you forsure.
Are you asking about Snow Tubing? If so, yes we do. More information here: https://www.bigbearmountainresort.com/winter/things-to-do/winter-activities/grizzly-ridge-tube-park
Jeans aren't ideal. I'd suggest a pair of snow pants over your jeans. You don't want to get wet, you'll be cold and miserable
It can and they do blow snow. You can check the big bear mountain site to see what runs are still open but they usually have all open in March.
Hi Delmer, yes! It is possible for snow in March. In 2015/16, we received 19", in 2016/17 we received 2", and in 2017/18 we received 13".
Yes, but you might have to look for safe and legal snow parks to sled on/in.
For a one-day experience, lift tickets are roughly $ 100, lessons are roughly $ 58, and rentals are roughly $ 31, but if you buy it as a 'package,' it's roughly $ 138 USD per person, which is about $ 276 for two people.
You don't have to buy in advance, you can buy everything in person at the ticket window, but we do offer advance purchase discounts if you buy online in advance. So, it is up to you!
You do not have to pay to enter the resort, only if you plan to participate in snow related activities such as skiing / snowboarding, snow tubing, classes, etc. You can come and hang out in the base area. We have tons of food options for you to enjoy and you can watch the bikers go down the slope.
For what activities? Ski/snowboard, lessons, rentals, food and drinks, snow tubing? Our prices are listed on our website.
Our chairlifts are the only option in getting to the top.
Tickets for the grizzly ridge tube park ranges from $25-$35. It includes the snow tube and access on the moving carpet so that you don’t have to walk uphill. It does not include a ski or snowboard lift ticket. Please visit our webpage for full details. https://www.bigbearmountainresort.com/winter/things-to-do/winter-activities/grizzly-ridge-tube-park
We do not offer clothing rentals, but Big Bear Sports offers a wide selection of brand name clothing, accessories and outerwear. Big Bear Sports is a retail store in our ski / snowboard mountains.
Hello Luis, the month of March may bring us some new snow. We will be open through April.
We will be open daily at both Parks starting this Friday, Dec. 7. Check out our hours of operation on our website for up to date information.
Hello, we have 2 lifts open on Dec. 1. We are working on opening more terrain this weekend.
If there is enough natural snow to have great conditions on Bow and Deer canyons, then yes, we will open it.
You certainly can. Just visit any ticket window to purchase. We open the windows up 30 minutes before the lifts. Save 20% on lift tickets when you purchase at least 72 hours in advance online or by calling 844.GO2.BEAR.
Your lift ticket works at both mountains for same day use.
Hello! What activities were you looking to do? We offer skiing and snowboarding, lessons, shopping, dining, and rentals. At Snow Summit, we also have snow tubing and many other family friendly events.
Hello Kimmie, are you looking to ski or snowboard?
Kimmie, our resort is for Skiing and Snowboarding. If you're looking for places for family photos, you may want to check out https://www.bigbear.com.
Hi Jay, temps are dropping, but no snow yet. Usually by November.
Yea not sure how you would get there with out tenting a car. Dont think any bus lines run up there. If you rent a 4x4 you will not need chains. Or even a all wheel drive you would be fine. If its been snowing it usually takes a day for them to clear and salt. So if you did get a 2 wheel drive and it had been snowing yes you will need chains. They have people that you can pay to put them on for you as you get to the elevation where you will need. Its cheaper and better if you bring your own. Hope that helps. Give yourself extra time cause if its snowing or has been traffic can be a bear. Lol. Good luck.
Sure just bring your own snow bra.....jk, Mammoth Mtn might still open though. They were open 288 days last year
As an employee for over 10 years I can tell you that as soon as we get snow then we try to open... the goal is always by Thanksgiving...
Always carry chains 1 to 2 days after snow. Buy them before you go up. There are stores that will sell them up the hill, but more than what you would pay down below.
Never drive in the winter in the mountains without chains, many times you may not need them but your really glad to have them when you get into the time you need them
It ends when it stops snowing, or can't make artificial snow due to rising temperature.
I've never been asked to pay for walking or playing around in front of the patios by the lifts and I've been going there for about 15 years at least.
Is there a chance when I go to California in mid April this year to see snow at big bear mountain and be able to do some snow boarding?
Air bnb
No snow is only cold but normal
No snow in Big Bear. We had a small, very small amount fall a week ago.
When the mountain closes
Runs are few and narrow. But for all man made it's pretty good
Dogs are very welcome. But not allowed on the snow.
They are aiming for next week sometime. But call the resort before you come up
I heard there was a plane crash site on mt san gorgonio somewhere on the north face but i haven't heard of anything in the big bear valley at least not that still exists to go see....
The end of next month is probably when you want to head up there. If you plan on staying in the area overnight, I would secure a place to stay now.
Always check their website and weather reports. For me, it starts usually, in early December with the arrival of a good amount of fresh powder.
