My mother has lived at Aegis Ventura for almost 3 years and has been very happy--she even thrived through the months of pandemic lockdown! Recently she had to spend some time in a skilled nursing facility and when it was time to bring her home there were a number of complications. But multiple members of the staff at Aegis worked with us daily to figure out how to get her back home to Aegis. When she did come back, a dozen employees greeted her at the entrance with a very warm welcome home for her. The staff have been so helpful as she gets used to a new normal, just as they did when she originally moved there after living independently and also had to adjust to a new normal. I believe deep in my heart that she is truly cared for and loved by the Aegis staff.

My father has been a resident at Aegis over the last month. Mary Sawyer was so helpful with the process from the very beginning. She returned my calls and answered questions and concerns in a caring and timely manner. The staff have all been very friendly and available. The location and community is very clean and feels very welcoming. My father has been adapting so far very nicely and appears more relaxed, content, and safe. Thank you to Mary Sawyer, Mary Henderson RN, Sam, and all of the staff for helping make this transition for my father and his family very positive.

I wanted to share my experience with Aegis. I went along to tour with my daughter for my ex-husband. We did not know what we were really looking for but needed something for her father who is on hospice. The marketing director took the time to talk about all options and helped us decide on what to do. She was never pushy and actually gave us resources to help us. We did not choose Aegis because it is not what he needs but I would recommend Aegis just based on how we were treated. Mary set us up with tours in 3 board and cares. She went out of her way to make sure we knew what to look for and questions to ask. Ultimately he is going home with his daughter to spend his last days. Thank you Mary for taking time to help us. I will recommend you to other families.

My mother has been a resident at Aegis for over 6 months. We continue to be happy with the care and services she receives. However it’s only because of Mary Sawyer and her excellent initial contact and follow thru that we decided to choose Aegis of Ventura. Mary has exceptional job skills for her position and a great personality as well. She continually makes herself available and always follows thru with any needs or requests we have. She is truly a wonderful, caring and loving person. Thank you Mary for all you do for our family.
