Vincent was an awesome guy. We were in the 8th grade at Lauderdale Lakes Middle School. Vincent played baseball at the Lauderdale Lakes Field that now carries Vincent's name. I'm thinking we were about 13 years old at the time. I wasn't at this particular game but what I recall Vincent and a baseman collided at 2nd base. Due to the way the collision happened, Vincent died. It was 1974 I believe. Many of us lived in Oriole Estates just west of the school. His family were members of St Helens Catholic Church on Oakland Park Blvd. Please let his passing be a reminder to always be kind and hug your loved ones. Losing a child at any age has to be the worst. Be kind. Vincent was always kind whenever I was hanging out with our friends. A lot of people from LL middle school lived close to school in Oriole Estates just west of Lauderdale Lakes Middle School. We'd often run into school friends while riding our bikes. We'd stop and chat.
