Probably one of Ventura's greatest hidden treasures. There are at least 4 lagoons filled with ducks and pelicans and other water fowl. It has a nice walking path that is about 3/4s of a mile around. I love to come on my lunch break and walk around a few times.

Small but good local birding spot near the harbor. Rough sand and gravel trail around 3 ponds. Saw plenty waterfowl, egrets, night herons, pelicans. No dogs, limited street parking. No facilities. No beach access. This is one just for birders.

Unexpectedly serene, yet alive with wildlife, and right by the life-giving Great Pacific Ocean. Loved it!

Settling ponds for the city of Ventura wastewater treatment plant. A late September walk found a good selection of waterfowl and some shorebirds as well as warblers vireos and other passerines for viewing.

That's correct. Because it is a bird and wildlife sanctuary, no dogs are allowed. But they can walk along the harbor across the street, which is also lovely.
