Very good food. I got chicken and dumplings with 3 sides carrots, fried okra, and a sweet potato. It came with 2 buttermilk biscuits that are delicious. All their food is cooked to perfection and very tasty. I have been to this restaurant before and every time it does not disappoint. Inside is a cozy atmosphere and they also have an inside shop with goodies like candies, local handmade soaps, clothing, lip balm, toys, etc. Occasionally the restaurant is busy with a bit of a wait for dining inside. My pick up order was ready when I arrived. The prices are decent for under $20 you can get most anything on the menu. They serve breakfast here all day.

Went to Cracker Barrel because it was conviently located next to the Hampton Inn in Clinton, NJ. Had the roast beef with mashed potatoes. Serving was just enough to fill, was not too impressed. The vegetables soup tasted like Campbell's, but not as good. Waiter was terrific, Store is amazing !!!

Have been to many Cracker Barrel locations and always had a good experience. Today was a surprising disappointment. Fried chicken…dry and over cooked. Bacon borderline raw, 90% fat. Grilled cheese burnt. Coleslaw not good. Most of the food we didn’t eat. Our waiter was excellent. Not his fault… tipped 20%. He asked numerous times if everything was all right. We only asked to replace the bacon. When nothing was good we felt there wasn’t a point asking for everything to be replaced. I know it is difficult to hire these days. Even if you have to pay over market I suggest splurging to get a good chef. We are not giving up on Cracker Barrel. This location is closest to our home. Will wait to see if reviews improve before returning. I’ll end on a high note. Very cold today. The big hearth had a beautiful fire ( wood not gas 😊 ) and the gift shop is excellent. This may sound like a strange request. It would be appreciated it if the restaurant can let us know when they are back on track.

Service was great 👍 we ordered to go as well but they forgot our cranberry relish(*we even asked for extra and was charged for extra*) we live in nj about 1&1/2 hour away so we didn't notice till we got home (sad face) but next time we'll check before leaving premises!
