I love this little farmers market! The only other one I've been to is the one in Little Italy, and compared to that one, the La Jolla one is much better, mainly because its not as big and isn't on the street so it feels less hectic.

One of the better markets in San Diego county. Lots of great stuff to see. Tons of great vendors. I really love the ceviche, hash browns, African food and the breakfast burritos from the Mexican food truck that's always there.

Plenty of prepared, hot food and produce options, and a lot of very neat artisan crafts for sale. A little pricey, but nothing out of the ordinary for the area. The vendors rotate, so there's always something new. Plenty of niche produce options if you're looking for mushroom varieties, microgreens, or something special. Large covered area with picnic tables for eating (usually crowded, but most folks are willing to share their table). This is located outside of an elementary school, and has a good playground for little ones, as well as light music. Parking is somewhat limited—the neighborhood behind the school has more parking, but your best bet is to get there early. If they're there, I recommend getting stuffed hashbrowns from The Brazilian Guys and a flavored lemonade from the lemonade stand.

Great open air farmers market! Wonderful selection of vendors with great products. All the vendors are very helpful and accommodating.

Hello Shelly, We will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 12 so that our farmers and vendors may spend the holiday with their families. We will be having our annual Spring Fling / Easter Egg Hunt event on Sunday, March 22. You'll be able to find more information about that event on our Instagram or Facebook accounts @lajollaopenairemarket Thanks and hope to see you soon!
There is a dog waiting area at the main entrance. Animals are not allowed in the market itself.
Most places prefer cash but card payment is possible, especially among vendors selling more expensive products.
And
Sundays only
Yes, Alaska’s Nature’s Seafood sells amazing wild salmon, smoked salmon, cod, Alaskan halibut, 3-4 varieties of shrimp, and Chilean sea bass. Hope to see you at the market soon!
They have a dog sitter outside under a canopy! She gives them treats and lots of love while you shop!
