Simply put. Excellent place for breakfast. The food was awesome. We even had some picky eaters with us who cleaned the plate. Our waitress was awesome (more than awesome). I will definitely be returning. I had the Lovin Oven breakfast.

This is a quaint little gem! Loved the decore and the food. Lots of GF options. Our.server was Dusty!! Love, love Love her!! She was helpful with menu choices, sweet and attentive. Even gave me some hibiscus tea to take home. Wish I lived closer. I would be there often!

This was a pleasant surprise. I'll admit that I was completely prepared to shoot this place down - my first reaction was that it was trying too hard to be an edgy New Hope/Lambertville, overpriced hipster restaurant, a classic style over substance situation. I'm glad I was wrong. Keep in mind as well that I grew up in Milford, and I think many of us are prone to instinctively give side-eye to Frenchtown restaurants catering more toward tourists than residents, whether that's fair or not - disclaimer. From my recollection, Lovin Oven was just a bakery storefront back in the day when it was in downtown Milford across the street from my dad's apartment - I'm honestly not sure I ever went inside. I was in the area yesterday visiting my chum's ponies in Kingwood and impulsively decided to stop in, thinking they'd have a pastry or something that I could grab on my way back home. I had no idea it had become a legit sit-down brunch establishment in Frenchtown, but I was hungry enough to give it a shot. The place IS a little drafty, especially on a nippy February afternoon like this. It's a converted warehouse space, so it's a big room that I'm sure is difficult to keep heated throughout. They may want to look into that though. Everyone I saw in there kept their jackets/puffers on. They've got a very cool little storefront by the door where you can just grab a bakery item or a breakfast sandwich to eat, or some local coffee, etc. Nice touch. I showed up toward the end of the lunch rush, so it took a few minutes for the staff to clear off a table, but the service was very good overall. The acoustics in there are excellent (maybe too excellent, depending on your point of view - I couldn't help overhearing a tedious conversation nearby about the actress Robin Wright) and I could hear the waitstaff constantly checking up on customers and just getting their job done. Very positive attitudes, with no wasted energy and no one lounging off to the side looking at their phones. My meal came out probably within 10, 15 minutes, and it didn't take long to get the check and continue on my way. I ordered the Two Egg Special ($15), which came with a unique assortment of sides. They had standard bacon, sausage, toast and the like, but I can't recall an instance where I've also gotten to choose a muffin or scone, at least not for an additional cost. I went with the roasted potatoes, toast and a cranberry/lemon muffin. The portion was GIGANTIC. I'm very skeptical that this was just two eggs, and the toast was close to overwhelming, definitely more in the French toast or Texas toast school of bread. Thankfully the muffin was on the smaller side. The roasted potatoes were very tasty, perfectly seasoned. I only had one option each for muffins and scones - not sure if that was because it was later in the day, but if not, they could use more variety there. The muffin was solid, though I think it was overloaded with tart taste (how could it not be with both cranberries and lemon icing?), so I'd recommend they make the icing sweeter to complement the cranberries. For the price and portion, I thought the meal was super reasonable. Sometimes it can be tough to gauge the price point in this area of Hunterdon because you have local institutions like Ma-De's in Milford that exclusively cater to locals where you can get a decent meal for less than $8, but you also have hip eateries that are trying to lure in the bougie clientele hanging out in the nearby Bucks County B&Bs. Regardless, I'm glad I stopped in.

Our server Emma was a helpful and polite. We had the Jersey burger with fabulous bacon and the avocado BLT. There was plenty of seating and parking and the young women who ran the counter was helpful too. Definitely worth stopping by.
