Descendants Brewing at the Old Ship Inn

Descendants has the ingredients to be great but unfortunately wasn't on our first visit since it had been The Ship Inn. On the plus side ... Atmosphere, lots of beers on tap, a solid offering of whiskeys and other liquors, and a reasonable selection of food choices. On the negative side, the two beers we drank had great flavor but both were unfortunately a bit flat, surprisingly since they were from the tap. The other negative was the owner, who seemed irritated or perhaps preoccupied with something, which came across in her interaction with us. The bartender was friendly and cordial however. We'll try again and see if we can update with a better rating in the weeks ahead.

What a fantastic location to unwind and enjoy a great brew with great food. We have visited this Descendants Brewing Co. twice and have been impressed with the great ambiance, food, beer and service. The music is not too loud, the lighting is perfect and the interior is rustic and relaxing. One of my favorite places to visit in Hunterdon County for an enjoyable time! I highly recommend trying it out.

We had our wedding at Descendants Brewing Company in November and I can truly say it was a dream! So many people came up to us and complimented us on how good the food and drinks were! Chef Kathy is a real super star as are Mike and Ana behind the bar! So happy to start the next chapter in our life at a place so rich with history!

I had beer and Yeay!!! They had an Amber and it was great! Lots of other beers on tap and a ton of whiskey/scotch. I did not eat but the food looked good and I asked a few folks - no complaints. Worth the trip,no doubt. Very friendly folks.
