I was so excited to visit a place that I have not been too for forty years. I drove 90 minutes to get here because there are so few left. I had told my daughter for over ten years that one day I'd take her to a 5 & 10 if they still existed. So at 1:50 almost an hour and a half before they closed I sat down and was greeted with a nasty attitude and an announcement that they did not serve anything past 1:45. Really?!!!!!. This is not the 5 & 10 of yester year. I left absolutely disgusted. I guess memories are what's left for places like this, but if you are looking for the good old days don't go here. UPDATE: someone contacted me to apologize which is a nice but still is no excuse for denying a customer service at the very time they were shutting down the lunch counter. It was only going g to be 4 ice cream floats and and what was going to occur but didn't because I didn't want to purchase until I was done at the cou ter was a ton of model planes and ships just like I did back in the day. Along with that was of course the individual candy. Potential sales would have been about $200. But this is what happens when someone sticks to the minutes on the clock. As customers don't look for small signs that have certain time periods on them and figure if a place closes at 3pm and not 1:45 in Paris of it, perhaps something should be announced to customers when they enter. I did look forward to this place for a few months but to ever travel back an hour and pay turnpike tolls just isn't worth my time. Businesses survive by repeat customers. If customers are driven off and don't return eventually the business will fail. All this over 4 ice cream sodas. Truly a shame.

A step back in time with candies, home goods and Christmas decor. Museum type displays of 5 and dime from the past. Stop for a bite to eat at the lunch counter too!

Step back into ur past --I still can't believe I was in there almost 90 mins it's a mix of old & new -loved all the ✈️ models hanging from ceiling & placed on the shelves --& for me I've been looking for several years & couldn't find my FAVORITE cough drops ever!!! But I found em' here (LUDENS menthol) & bought every last box !!👍😀
