Where else can you get a steak dinner, topped with Bleu cheese, sauteed onions and shrooms with a side of salad for under $10 ?!?! ...and the steak was good, cooked med rare per my test! Yay! Bartender and cook very friendly.

I pretty much lived here for my first 2 years in Portland. Best dive bar food ever, great staff, the owners are the best. Hamad and Michay (sorry no idea how to spell it either) know what's up! Good pours, live music and open mic on Tuesdays, gross carpet, ornery old-timers and young people in the mix and lots of blurry memories. A true glorious dive and a St. John's institution. Did I mention the food? Curry and braised beef pasta and steak salad and burgers are good. Plus specials. I would go there just for the food.

Pretty decent dive, good divey prices. Falafel was sub par, but as to be expected. They did have Pfreim IPA though, and other good beer choices.
