They let go of all staff that wouldn’t get vaccinated against Covid. Some of these people worked the Covid unit the entire time when everyone was panicked ab what was going on and no one else would work it - experienced staff- suddenly those same people weren’t good enough to work there anymore because they questioned the safety of this new vaccine. It wasn’t unreasonable for someone to question getting it as it is obviously new and does not work the same as other traditional vaccinations. Won’t take exemptions whatsoever of any kind, yet, is ALWAYS short staffed. Chooses to have almost NO staff while the residents pay a lot $$$$$ to live there. Would you rather have experienced staff with religious/medical exemption to take care of your loved one??? Or almost staff at all because the truth is and everyone in healthcare knows it the nursing homes are hard to work and they are always short staffed. Davis has a high turnover not just for floor staff but management and HR as well. To not take exemption in the end is straight up discrimination!!! Did you see they changed those CDC guidelines this week’? 👀

If you are considering this place for a loved one I’ll save you some time. Don’t. What a joke. Staff is incompetent and inconsistent. The facility is dirty. Roaches, trash. Not a place I would ever feel comfortable for someone in their twilight years.

Very beautiful facility, but staffing is challenged in providing continuity of care. As a past employee, and customer, I can say they depend on agency staffing which causes the decline in continuity of care. My mom stayed in rehab for a week, and we requested nurses the entire week to check for urinary tract infection. Our request fell on deaf ears, we had to take her out ourselves and transfer to E.R to get diagnosed with urinary tract infection. She also sustained terrible skin tears when they got her up to be weighed at 5:30 in the morning. I fully believe had we not taken mom out of there, she would have been dead. As an employee, I liked working there, but was declined a religious exemption for the jab, and another nurse was declined her medical exemption also. I lost all my PDO pay as I never took vacation time due to the COVID pandemic, and low staffing. This is my reward for working through the pandemic.

The facility is lovely and the food is pretty good. PT folks are very capable. The attending physician Dr. Surak is TOP NOTCH, caring, compassionate with great communication skills. However, we were extremely disappointed in the case manager K. She was surly, unrespondive, did not provide any useful information about the patient's status, and did very little coordination when the patient was discharged at the family's request.
