This is the main and largest library branch for Santa Clara. First floor is great with a huge kids and young adults section and plenty of books to read a book. The library desk in that section usually has 1-2 fun activities for kids to do (coloring, crafts) and the librarians are very knowledgeable and helpful with book recommendations. I haven’t explore the rest of the library much but with two large floors and many computer stations, there should be something for everyone.

This is the biggest library in this area. Good environment. Soft light. But the study room is not enough.

I will compare this library with Milpitas library to show you why I gave only 4 stars to it. 1. Hours: Milpitas library offers 7 days when this library offers only 6. Milpitas library also offers longer hours on each day. For example, this library closed at 2pm on both Friday and Saturday. 2. Quietness: Milpitas library is much quiet than this one. There were lots of noises in this place (at least today). People talked loudly, kids were running around, and you can even hear baby was crying. So, go to Milpitas library if you live on north side of Santa Clara city.

Wonderful studying and working environment: clean restroom and plenty of seats with sockets. I like that there’s a mini cafe on the first floor! During weekdays, it’s not too challenging to find parking.

Books have barcodes. Library cards have barcodes. Sometimes furniture has barcodes. An entire building? I don't think so. I could be wrong. Call or visit the library

The front desk can assist you. You do not need to be a resident of Santa Clara to obtain a library card.
During sunlight time is good. Kids will enjoy it.

Library card is free. You just need to provide your documents. Wifi is free as well. You need liberty card to use computer. You can also check out Chromebook and iPad from library.
If you are registered to the library and have library card you can access the computers to watch your any of your DVD's.
There is a donation box for books near the entrance door and the stairs
