For as nice as the apartments may look, the management is not. Packages missing, unable to help a past resident with a fairly simple request, parking gets full even though theres a parking pass. Cannot honestly recommend this apartment, and will more than likely never live at an Essex apartment home ever again.

My package was stolen from right in-front of my door. The package delivery center has a cool name 'Luxor One', but remains closed and not in service due to lack of security. I like my apartment, but package theft is a thing here. This is a real downside. I hope the management is serious to solve this issue. I will update my review according to the changes.

PLEASE, do not let the beauty of these apartments fool you. I highly suggest taking the reviews more seriously like I wish I’d done. Patina deserves “0” stars. Here are a few of the major issues things I’ve encountered while living at Patina. 1.) The apartments are not cleaned well prior to move in. I found a used condom wrapper laying right next to the in-unit washer/dryer (Yes, I was just as shocked…) This was upsetting. Patina offered cleaning services after I submitted a negative review to them regarding the issue, but, I didn’t see the point of that. Shouldn’t the apartment be thoroughly cleaned prior to move in? 2.) Parking is a nightmare. You have the option to purchase assigned or unsigned parking. Both are in a gated garage. The unassigned parking option does NOT, by any means, accommodate enough residents. If you get home after 7pm you will not find parking in the garage or on the streets around the complex. We pay for unassigned parking but have to park on the street quite often. My boyfriend had his car broken into after having to park on the street one night and a lot of valuables were stolen. After this incident we were afraid to park on the street. Last night, the garage was filled except for one “Future Resident” space. I figured, we pay for parking, there’s no other available spaces, the car just got broken into a few days ago, I’m not comfortable parking on the street, we’ll have the car moved before noon so there should be no harm. But, once again, Patina manages to make living here a nightmare. When we went out at ~10:45am this morning, we discovered Patina had the car towed. According to their office staff, they have tow trucks “lined up by 9am”. So, Patina lacks in offering adequate space for paying residents, and could care less if they have your car towed despite being a paying resident. 3.) Security doesn’t seem like a priority at Patina. Security doesn’t come until 4pm as if crime only happens after those hours. When security is onsite they are USELESS. They sleep in their car or sit in one spot 99.9% of the time. When my boyfriend’s car was broken into security was nowhere to be found. I’ve also woken up to a homeless man sleeping in front of my apartment door. It was before 4pm so security was not there to help. (Don’t even bother calling Patina’s after hours patrol line. All you’ll get is the manager who rants about his own political stance and opinions of the city’s crime rates) Patinas response to lack of security is “They are a third party company. There’s not much we can do”… For starters, they can hire better security… 4.) Packages go missing. I’ve had several packages stolen from the Luxor One room (which is currently closed for remodeling). The Luxor One room sounds fancy and secure but it is literally just a room with shelves. No lockers. Just shelves where packages rest unsecured from theft. Yes, there are cameras in the package room but both the Luxor One company and Patina have said there is nothing they can do to help with my stolen packages. I’ve also had packages delivered to the office in which the carrier stated a receptionist accepted the package. Twice my package ended up going missing after being delivered to the office. How?.. that is beyond belief. I suggest you save yourself headache and rent elsewhere. Patina may look beautiful but I promise you, the living experience is subpar, to say the least.

What kind of apartment charge for parking, doesn't provide enough parking and bring tow company in to tow resident's car which clearly displayed their parking pass? Patina it is. I am current resident here for 6 months and paid for unassigned parking monthly (which first come first serve but should be guaranteed). When I came home at midnight yesterday, I found all the spots where I am allowed to park were all full, except for one single spot at future residence parking. I have no other choice but to park there. Today, I went downstairs to get my car to go out, but it's gone. I had no clue what's going on and took me a while to guess that it was towed. I got no notice, no warning. And the cost is over $400. I have my parking pass clearly displayed and my license plate number registered when I sign the lease. Anyone who experience the same should leave a comment here, I don't think residents should tolerate this kind of treatment.
