Best Chinese food in Denver, grew up here & always struggle to find a consistent good Chinese spot since I was a kid but ever since I found imperial it’s been my go to for consistent quality Chinese food. From the moment you get there you can smell it outside & from the moment you walk in you notice it’s elegance & know you’re in for a great. they have the best black pepper steak I’ve ever had anywhere! 10/10 highly recommended I now live in Boulder & continue to go all the way down to southwest Denver off Broadway & Alameda for the best Chinese food in denver undoubtedly!

I’ve been eating at Imperial for close to 4 decades. Sadly the sesame chicken has become stringy and dry and can’t justify paying $20 for lunch and even more for dinner entrées. Back in the day this was my favorite restaurant especially when it was near Ellsworth and Broadway. It was such a treat to go there as a kid. My very first job was down the street and my coworkers and I would order take out for $8.95. Life changes and all good things must end.

Up until today the Imperial restaurant has always been considered a go to for high end Chinese food…. I ordered takeout-this was very disappointing! My order of sesame chicken was shorted! I paid $18 for the entree but it was only a top layer of chicken and under was filled with cabbage! Maybe 12 pieces of chicken total. The imperial used to be a restaurant that served it’s customer’s heartedly and for the price they charged- it was not worth it! Imperial is one of many restaurants taking full advantage of this “so called pandemic”!

Food and ambiance are great. Felt little understaffed but service is so good. We ordered Fried rice, dumplings and Szechuan chicken and all tasted good but needed little spice
