I adopted a dog and was told that she was about 1 years old. We noticed our dog was having issues so we called the shelter for help, but they kept brushing us off and saying they would call us back. After calling multiple times and getting brushed off, they told us it was too late and that we waiting too long to call the shelter (even though we called multiple times and were told to wait for a call). So, we took her to the vet and they told us that she was actually 8 years old and had a lot of medical problems that the shelter did not make us aware of. These medical issues are important to address and when we called the shelter to see if they could help us but they simply told us to just return her as if she were an object.

Lovely place for potential adopters to socialize with the animals. I met my new kitty here. Please support adoptions and give shelter animals a chance :)

The staff are wonderful! They were very patient and welcoming. We were walk-ins, they told us about the doggies and gave us recommendations based on our lifestyle and other circumstances. They let us take the dogs out and interact with them. The facility is spacious and modern too. Although we did not adopt a dog immediately, we will be coming back when we're ready.

My sister adopted a beautiful kitten through their service. The foster family was very nice and helpful. We went to the shelter to finish paper work and the staff was polite and made sure everything was right.

Unfortunately no, you have to go in.
Maybe
Hi, Lisa. For the public we only offer pet vaccinations as an add-on to spay/neuter services.
Hi, Lore. Our volunteer opportunities are limited at the moment for COVID safety reasons. We are, however, always looking for foster volunteers. Once we start welcoming on site volunteers back you can find opportunities and sign up here: https://animalservices.sccgov.org/support/volunteer
We have them now
Silicon Valley Wildlife Center in San Jose on Penitencia Creek Road.
We allow 16 yo to be trained to work with our residents but parents must be present at all times. Younger children can participate in our Toys and Treats program or can read to our animals. Email our website with questions

No solo es cuestión de pagar primero tienes que justificar por que lo estas dejándolo ahí.
It's supposedly a no kill shelter, it's better to take the kitty in so they can help.
Walk right, sit right down, very helpful staff.
Call for appt. There are rules on who can come.
We accept feral or community cats for spay/neuter from Morgan Hill, Gilroy and the unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (excluding County holidays) at 8am.
You can take an available dog on a day or half day field trip, including to your home. Usually not a very young puppy though as they don't usually have all their vaccines yet and demand to adopt them is usually very high.
Don't work for county, call them.
Stop by there and they will give you a packet of information, and a couple of forms. Its quick and easy. They provide food, litter and medical care for the animal you foster.
Yes! We open at noon tomorrow if you'd like to meet them.
There is a fee. See the county website for more information.
Only when they absolutely have to. For example, aggressive animal that could not be rehabilitated. SCC animal shelter works with rescue groups and other shelters to adopt out every animal.
Hi, Aimee. We recommend reaching out to your veterinarian. If this is sudden, there could be an underlying issue.
Hi, Rebecca. Thank you for thinking of us! We can't use pillows but are always in need of towels and blankets :)
Yes I think they do take things like that.
I'm not sure if there are any chihuahuas puppies, but I think you could give them your name and number and they would call you if any puppies came available
I need to fix my puppy as soon as possible I'm looking for a low-cost place
Hi, Lucy. It depends on where you live since shelters are jurisdictional. If you need help determining which shelter serves your area, give us a call at (408) 686-3900. That being said, we ask that you look after them until they are about 6 weeks until they are old enough for spay/neuter. At that time, if you live in our service area, you can make an appointment with us to get them fixed, microchipped and vaccinated (all free for found kitties). If they end up becoming socialized, we ask that you help to find them new homes. If they are still feral, fixing them will help prevent future litters.
Hi, Michael. There is no certification for emotional support animals. Typically a note from your doctor will suffice for situations that allow emotional support animals.
Hi, Linda. We typically offer adoption promotions when they are necessary based on the number of pets in the shelter. At this time we aren't yet sure if we will be doing free adoptions this July.
They only treat animals that have been adopted from them or that are rescued. Everything else is from your vet.

They have puppies, though not always, it is best to call or go down and see for yourself.
Yes, you can see the dogs. They are open from noon to 6 on weekdays, and from noon to 5 on weekends.
I know FOSMAS vets are there on Mondays
No it is not a kill shelter and they don't do that kind of thing there
Start here: http://fosmas.org/volunteer.html
Not sure exactly
I believe the promotion for adoption ended in January. But check their Facebook page or website.
They do take farm animals but call first.
Yes, the animal shelter in San Martin is the way to go.
