They need to keep their website up to date. Status shows that it is open. Went yesterday and the gate was closed. There was a truck there and no place to turn around with our trailer. Please call ahead to make sure they are open before attempting to drive down the road.

Stayed here in June of 2021. Really nice higher elevation campground with the Dolores river ruining right along side it. Very relaxing and beautiful spot to stay. The sites were spaced out pretty well and the views were great from any of the sites. Not too far a drive from Telluride.

Love cayton campground, it's so beautiful and peaceful 💕. Didn't see a baby black bear this year but still amazing spot. We'll be there again next year 🥰

Great campground. Our space was far enough away from the road that we heard very little traffic. The campground was easy to navigate for our vehicle plus a 22' trailer. Bathrooms were the cleanest we experienced in 3 weeks of cross country driving. Beautiful surroundings in the heart of the San Juan high country.
