I never write reviews, but I have to today because of what I’m dealing with months after moving out of Heritage at Stone Mountain. My roommate and I paid all of our bills in a timely manner and we never had problems paying rent. We moved out and even received a letter of reimbursement for our security deposit, which was an unfair amount considering we left the apartment in amazing shape upon move out. Regardless, we didn’t fight the reimbursement amount cause we moved on to better things anyways even though we deserved more of it considering the great condition we left it in. A few days later, we received a letter from the debt collector saying we individually owe over $300 to Heritage at Stone Mountain. None of that makes sense considering we had just gotten reimbursed partially for our security deposit. Not to mention, no one from Heritage at Stone Mountain ever contacted us prior to this debt collector letter, which is extremely illegal. We’ve tried to contact Heritage at Stone Mountain for weeks and they never contacted us back to resolve this situation. This affects our credit and our credit has been perfect until this apartment complex decided to illegally charge us for dues we do not owe. I’ve lived in 8 different apartment complexes and this is the first one that’s trying to scam me after I’ve long since moved out. Luckily, both me and my roommate have all of our documents for proof against this company and also wrote formal complaints to CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) so these illegal actions against us don’t happen to anyone else ever again.

They worked hard to get us into our apartment last year when my income came up a bit short. And when it improved, they reapplied me for a lower deposit. Even though the previous tenants didn't leave on time, they did their best to get it ready for us and continued working on things as we settled in. They are always prompt to send maintenance and the office staff is awesome. No general noise, dirtiness or theft complaints. Overall this has been one of my best apartment experiences in 20 years.

The caring and wonderful staff that worked so hard to help me extend my lease became unavailable, unhelpful, and unfriendly when an emergency forced to me to break my lease. No one ever picks up after their pets, the trash service is unreliable, parking is a nightmare, and if you pay rent on time you will be told later that you still owe a previously undisclosed amount for utilities. Rent at your own risk!!!
