Avalon at Arlington Square

I've lived at Avalon for the better part of the last two years. Like with any apt complex, I've had some concerns about noisy neighbors, people not picking up after their dogs, etc. But the apt is really great (the layout, the views, the space), and my wife and I like the amenities here. Most importantly, the staff here are wonderful. Daniel in particular has always been very kind and helpful and attentive. Additionally, while we've had very few reasons to call for maintenance, when we have, they have always come quickly, fixed the problem right away, and been courteous while doing so. It's also a great location, close to DC, close to lots of good biking/running paths, and close to the freeway.

Just wanted to take a minute and say the maintenance team at Avalon Arlington Square is the reason why I rate this place 5 stars and continue to live here. Daniel H specifically has been very responsive and knowledgeable when it comes to just about every system in my place. We all see how hard he works and we hope his employers do as well! Regarding the neighborhood - it’s very quiet. It is set up very dog and child friendly. The staff has been pleasant. I can’t complain after almost 2 years now.

We moved in 6 months ago and the neighborhood is great, but for the price we're paying, the place we rent has had a lot of issues. When we moved in, it looked like Avalon had left things broken from the previous tenant like the sink and the shower door, then our dryer didn't work, then we had a flood from our AC unit that caused mold to grow in our carpet, then our dishwasher broke, then our heat was leaking, then our heat didn't work (it was 60 degrees in our house during the winter) and now we have mice in 2 areas in the home. I will say, the maintenance team is great, but it just seems like there is another issue every week.

It is really Home to me and my family. The most reason I decided to move in is the spacious and wide range of equipment at the GYM. Also I like the swimming pools. In addition, my apartment in the third floor which gives great view through the windows and the fireplace make some nights warm and lovely. One of the most important feature in Avalon is the maintenance team, who are fast responding to tickets they got. And I will not forget Celia in the management office, who really walk my step by step to finalize the required papers. Oh yeah,  Avalon provides a "resident card" allow to ride ART bus 87 for free (values for $2 per ride) which reaches Pintagon City metro station. On the other side, they are few thinks doesn't affect to move in, while my kiddos like to play in playground, the playground is unmaintained. Also the online order packages are not allowed to delivered to your door and the "mailing room" system is not pleasant. Unless you subscribe on package system. At the end, comparing with complexes in the area including Pintagon and Cristal cities I highly recommend avalon square for living.
