Yes, we will offer the blessing of throats at all Masses at St. Martha Parish this weekend (Feb. 6-7), but it will be different this year because of the pandemic. Using the traditional blessing through the intercession of St. Blaise, the priest will bless everyone’s throats at one time from the altar. Even though it may feel a bit different this year, blessing throats this way is in accord with the rite in the Catholic Book of Blessings, and it has the same spiritual effect as individual blessings. We look forward to seeing you this weekend!
Thank you for your question. Currently there are no plans to cancel gatherings at the church. This situation is very fluid and changes are possible. We will announce any changes on our website, bulletin and at Masses. Again thank you for reaching out. God Bless!
