Having waited a month to receive my new social security card for name change after getting married, I decided to call and check the status of my application only to find that they had no record of my application. Even though they had sent a letter back with my documents saying that they were reviewing my application. Don't know how that happened. So, now I get to do the whole process over again. The representative I spoke with on the phone was nice, but it irks me that they sent me a letter saying they had my application when they supposedly have no record of it. Advice to those mailing in for a card, check to make sure they actually have it on file and are reviewing it. The representative with whom I spoke said it should take approximately 2 weeks at most for them to review the application and send you the card.

The service representatives are very helpful and good at their jobs but we the people need to be able to see and talk to them face to face sometimes. But the covid has thrown everything and everyone off their game. Good work Social Security Administration, Sincerely Mr Larry Barron Sr

Have waited over a month to receive my new social security card... They also have my physical license stating they needed it and would not accept a copy in order to get my name changed. Can not reach social security or this branch no matter how many hours I sit on hold.... Huge problem that needs to be addressed!! Worst ss service ever and stupid that the branch is closed so there is absolutely nothing u can do.

Ive been trying to call and make an appointment for the past three weeks to get my daughter social security card. This is very disappointing. I wait on phone like for 35 minutes as soon as the answer they hang up. I go to the actual office amd still dont let me explain whats going on. Im truly very tired of how there working.

You can, if you can ever get someone to answer the phone!
I’m pretty sure retirement age is 65
You can sign up for a profile online and they will take you through the steps online
I will be turning 65 on August 1 and I plan to continue working and continue using Cigna insurance through my employer. I have been getting tons of mail about signing up with different insurances which is very confusing. Do I need to apply for Medicare at this point since I won't be drawing Social Security yet?
Call social security get his information
Who knows. I can't even get anyone on the phone
Yes you can just bring 2 forms of identification that proves who you are.
That's a very good question I would like to know why you can't make appointment and walk in.
Definitely a scam, don't give any info. Social security will normally send letters in mail. They never call!!! I always mess with them over the phine to waste their time! 😂
Yes 20 hrs
You may need to get a CNA license
Go to SSA in person and they'll guide you through the process for replacement. Or visit their website, they have detailed explanation.
Go to S.S Office and ask
Yes it will save you from doing the paperwork there just make sure you have all the documents you need or they will send you home
Right now it's a 30 minute wait inside and longer if you don't have an appointment

You can typically request that online through their website if you have an online account.. You can also Call the number listed and they can assist you that way, or go directly to your local SSA office and request one in person. 🙂 Hope this helps you.
It's a 1.6% increase and the average increase is $24/mo. It depends on what you get monthly, everyone is different. Multiply your monthly check by .016 and that's what you're getting. To get à 144.60 increase you'd have to be getting around $9000/mo from ss.
Sure, if you're both eligible.
Yes, under your profile.
